We were a party of eight for lunch at Artist Cafe inside the Windsor Casino. We showed up promptly at noon as we had a reservation and we were seated immediately. So far so good.A young woman took our beverage order and passed out menus. Then an older heavyset woman brought our beverages. She was an unhappy ill-mannered soul and clearly didn’t enjoy serving people.. A third server came to our table and took our food orders; she was pleasant and knowledgeable of food choices. Forty-five minutes later at 1 pm we were still waiting for our meals. The restaurant was less than half full. One in our party got up and complained to the hostess. Shortly thereafter our meals were served by the same pleasant server who took our orders. The meals ordered were everything from late breakfasts to sandwiches to pasta dishes and seafood. Surprisingly, everyone enjoyed their meals I had a Cuban sandwich with mushroom soup and garden salad. Friends by me had haddock and fries and eggplant lasagna with onion soup. It’s too bad the wait was so long and that there are unhappy employees working there. The food was well prepared and very tasty.

I felt very rushed by the waitstaff, which would have been ok if the food was good but it wasn’t.. They use cheap ingredients and the drinks are watered down
Hit and miss, but when it’s good, it’s great! The pistachio and chocolate gelato are delicious.. And if you love sour things, their lemon gelato will hit the spot.
Not what I expected from a Caesars casino restaurant. Grade: C+I don’t know…maybe it’s just me, but when a top-name casino chain offers food, you’d think that they’d want to make it so good that you would want to stay and keep dropping your money into the slot machines. Not so much at Artist’s Cafe. The food was okay, but only okay.Maybe it’s just because this Caesars is in a small town in Canada, but the grandiose menu descriptions just didn’t translate into anything memorable. The pan seared chicken parmesan with linguine was pretty flavorless…my wife, who was born in Canada, says that this is pretty normal, though. The panko crusted pickerel was actually a pretty tasty piece of fish, despite the presence of a few too many bones. Fortunately, our waitress took the liberty of asking for the lemon garlic butter sauce on the side. Thank goodness, as it was way too rich and didn’t really bring anything positive to the dish.Maybe the other restaurants in Caesars Windsor ante up but Artist’s Cafe wouldn’t be my first choice for food if we were to go back.
