Friendly Little Jewel. Thought we would stop in for a quick lunch and were happy as it smelled like my nonna’s house from the moment we opened the door. Tony made us feel like family from the moment we walked in. First, we had a latte, a cap and a far from standard bread with olive oil(sweet and light)/balsamic dip, all of which were excellent. Started with a caesar salad with made to order dressing, would order again. She explained a few things on the menu and we decided on the gnocchi. Tony suggested instead of the regular sauce served with the gnocchi she would have the chef (her husband) make it with a vodka sauce not on the menu. Definitely some of the best gnocchi(light & soft) we have ever had or made ourselves. The sauce was prepared properly(no alcohol taste), a wonderfully flavourful blush marinara. We were full but since the meal was soooo good we decided to take a piece of tiramisu to go and glad we did. Nothing pretentious just great eats & great friendly service; solid, honest Italian food like nonna would have been proud to serve.
This restaurant was absolutely fabulous. My family for was looking for something to do on a Saturday night, and being it that we are from the Metro Detroit area, we decided to go to Windsor for the evening. We were craving Italian, so we went on the web and looked for Italian restaurants on Erie Street. Calabrisella had the best reviews (by far), so we decided to check it out. When we walked in, we were treated like we were family. The owner made genuine conversation with us and was nothing but gracious. Our server was fabulous. We had what we needed before we even realized we needed it. She was friendly, made fabulous recommendations, and went above and beyond to ensure that we were happy. When it comes to the food, our expectations were greatly exceeded. Everything was fresh, piping hot, and insanely delicious. My brother is a Calamari lover… He truly thinks Calabrisella’s Calamari is the best he’s ever had in his life. When it comes to the prices, they were more than reasonable. This restaurant is truly a gem on Erie Street. Metro Detroiters: if you are looking for something to do on a weekend night and are bored with your usual hang-out’s, check out this place. It was a fabulous evening, all thanks to Calabrisella! We will be back!
Excellent food and friendly service. Popped in for a late lunch today and loved the intimate atmosphere, great service and delicious food. I had the veal with cream sauce and cremini mushrooms, excellent! everyone at our table enjoyed their meal, will visit again.
This place was awesome. First, it was a Saturday night and everywhere was completely booked for the night so I called this little Italian place and they said come right in. Very quaint little place but very nice. Great service and the food was by far the best and most authentic Italian food I’ve ever eaten. Great wine as well. The menu isn’t huge but everything was spectacular. Will definitely go back again when in Windsor again. 10/10
Simple, fresh, fabulous food. Comfortable, casual atmosphere. Wonderful hosts/owners who take pride in their food & service.
