This restaurant isn’t what you think it would be it’s in the lower level of a building different very cute quaint nice for a smaller groups of people typical Italian Fair good food though whether you want the pork loin chops the rainbow trout or true Italian Dish this would be the place to go. The cook shop is it located on Erie Street in Little Italy in Windsor Ontario in fact it is off the main drag of a LED Avenue where you would park in the back and to the restaurant where it’s very cozy candlelit enjoy a glass of wine or glass of beer whether you want the rainbow trout or the pork loin chops you can have it all. But if you’re looking for the Italian side of the menu you’ve got to try the lasagna it’s out of this world almost like your mother used to make and for that matter if I knew my mother was going to read this post I’d say just as good if not better than Mom’s lasagna. If you’re not into the media lasagna you can have the linguini in garlic and butter sauce. The prices to eat at the cook shop are fair to moderate little on the high end but nothing that you wouldn’t expect for Italian Fair meals. But if you don’t want to go to Erie Street and you would like to check out the cook shop it’s a fine Italian restaurant with Good Eats.
Over 30 years this establishment has been serving up great food, large portions (the chicken dish is a WHOLE chicken…my expression was priceless apparently) and kitschy, but lovely atmosphere. A gem. A must for any Essex County resident and visitors alike. Wine prices are very reasonable too. I have been at least once a year in the last 20 years and have always enjoyed it. I suggest reservations…. munchingqueen.wordpress.com
