I love the Lebanese food scene in Windsor. El-Mayor is just one of the Big 3 in Windsor (other two being Mazaar and Windsor Palace). The place itself is very nice and looks to be a great place for a date. The ambiance is real nice in the morning so I can only imagine how it is at night. Sadly, I didn’t come with a date…I came with my hungover friend who wanted something badly to eat with his Gatorade.I had the Mixed BBQ Platter ($14.99) while my buddy got the Chicken Shawarma platter. The platters themselves were big. Portion sizes were no issue at all. The Mixed BBQ platter comes with kofta, chicken tawook, and beef kebab. All platters are served with rice or fries and pita bread. The pita bread here was more crisp than soft which was actually very good. The chicken tawook was my favorite as it was tender and juicy inside while being charred nicely on the outside. The kofta and the beef were merely ok. The garlic sauce is really the real winner as it was the perfect dip for pretty much everything on your plate.El Mayor stands as one of the better Lebanese places but I still like Windsor Palace and Mazaar slightly more. The prices are on par with the others around town and the service is very friendly. Definitely worth coming to whenever you get the chance. cheatdayeveryday.com

I go there for Foul as a breakfast. It is the best foul plate you can get. Expansive but worth it if you are looking for quality foul plate. Other dishes I tried are average, but of course the shawarma quality is way over the fast food type shawarma joints on Ouellette.
Good food, great portions. Worth the money.
