I stumbled upon Emone a few months ago and it was soo good that my boyfriend and I kept bringing our friends there to share the deliciousness! The food comes out very quickly and hot! I like how they have daily specials (helps a poor student out) 🙂 We ordered their bulgogi kimbap which was interesting, I had always wondered what cooked meat would taste like in a maki roll, and the outcome was very yummy indeed! On our last visit the staff all gave us a rice drink while we were leaving on the house! They are soo kind there! Unfortunately it is now closed, for one of the chefs has an illness. I am hoping that they recover soon and the restaurant re-opens!!
I’ve lived in Korea for 6 years and I can say the kimchi jiggae (hot pot/stew) isn’t great. Hot dogs in it don’t compare to pork belly. However, the dolsot bibimbap (hot stone pot rice n veggies with spicy sauce) is decent, the banchan (side dishes) are excellent, the gamja-tang (pork spine stew) is fantastic and the prices are acceptable (in spite of knowing that these dishes are 1/3 the price in Korea which makes me sad!) I eat here regularly because its close to where I work. Trust me, I know Korean food. It’s great!
