  Not a fan of this place. I’ve been here a few times now and first off, the food is really nothing special, and very overpriced. The homemade tortillas are good so I do recommend getting something with those, as they are fresh, warm, and you can tell they were just made. Anything else is below average. I got the chicken chimichanga (spelling?) and it wasn’t bad, but the inside was mostly onions. There was a very small amount of actual chicken, which was disappointing. My boyfriend ordered the fajitas and got the small steak one. They don’t give you very much meat (yeah, I know it’s the smallest portion size, but it said enough for one person and he’s not a huge eater and didn’t feel that there was as much as there should have been for the price) and even though they claim to have unlimited toppings, it’s tricky to get more because the staff can be hard to get a hold of at times. That being said, the service from the waitress was decent. But my biggest complaint and the reason I will not be going back is the male supervisors/managers. I was actually hired there and very glad I turned down the job. I am a thin 23 year old girl and that was about all they had working there. I think out of maybe 15 staff members I saw, 10 were girls, all thin and young, 3 boys (most in the back) and then two supervisors who were middle aged men. On one occasion, my sister (who also applied to work there and was not considered for hire. Not to be rude to her, but she is larger than me size wise) noticed one of the older man looking at one of the waitress’ backside and while my boyfriend and I were there, one of the supervisors put his hand on a waitress’ bare shoulder (she wore a tank top). I’m not making assumptions here, merely stating that I feel slightly uncomfortable at this supposedly family restaurant and therefore I won’t be returning any time soon.

  We don’t just like it, We love it. Every time we have been to the Lone Star (in Windsor, Mississauga and Newmarket) the food has always been fresh, hot, delicious and generous. The complimentary chips and salsa are excellent and bottomless. The salsa is not actually salsa but pico de gallo. I have admit that the original FRESH pico de gallo (that they used to serve at the Mississauga restaurant) was much better than they serve now, but it is still very good. The service has always been awesome. All staff are friendly and willing to bend over backwards for you. The drinks are a little over priced, but really this is no different from any other restaurant. We have had all the different types of fajitas, the ribs, and the enchiladas, and we have never had a poor experience. We have been to many different Tex-Mex restaurants and the Lone Star is by far the best. The tortillas are always fantastic and fresh. They always just bring enough so that you always have hot tortillas to eat.If you like Tex-Mex, you should enjoy this restaurant.
