I’ve been coming to shin shin for 20 years and they have never disappointed me, new or old management. The only sad thing is they don’t deliver so you have to go get it but it is 100% worth it! The won ton soup has more than just won tons in it!!! Crispy beef, the spicy shrimp with the shell on and the garlic green beans are among my favourite dishes!
Our University guide took us to this restaurant thrice during our short stay in Windsor. I remember him saying that this was his favorite place. For us, it was unique as we are used to an Indianised version of Chinese in our hometown. We had Szechuan soup to begin with and a seafood platter. That was the first time I tasted squid and liked it. In the main course we had Sliced Pork in Bean Sauce. We ended our meal with a crunchy wafer that had a message within. I loved the taste of the pork preparation although the soup was a bit bland for my taste. What I liked even more was that the chef knew the regulars like our guide personally and remembered their preferences. In all, a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
1st time at Shin Shin, I am happy and will return.. I wanted to try someplace different than the usual places I order from, so I decided to try Shin Shin, I ordered the Chicken chop suey dinner special with wonton soup, the baked shrimp in shell with spicy salt, the deep fried mixed seafood with spicy salt and the chicken wings. I am so happy I tried this place, I am not a rice lover but really love the rice that came with the chicken chop suey dinner, so tasty and different than most places I tried, their wonton soup is better than most other places I tried too, very tasty, and their baked shrimp in shell was a very good too, the chicken wings are a safe choice and always good as most places are too, and lastly, I am impressed with their mixed seafood with spicy salt, I expected the typical shrimp and calamari but noooo, this place gives you a REAL MIXED SEAFOOD dish with fish and seafood of sorts, and, it tasted fantastic. I am impressed and now I have a new favorite place to try many more items on the menu. If you are like me and always order from the same place and want to try someplace new, then please try Shin Shin, I am happy I did. Carlo
