This is a good place to hang out after work for a quick bite and drinks. However, I have some recommendations that will come in handy when ordering. First off, I wouldn’t recommend the burger. They seem to have overcooked it when I went there and I had to douse it in ketchup to get it down. Instead, stick to the small stuff, like fries and nachos. The fries are really cool since you can put any dry rub you want on them and I highly recommend the garlic parm rub. Overall, it’s a good place, but nothing to write home about
When the bartender at a pub says recommends another, be sure to check out the other one!Loose Goose sits conveniently on Oulette and the Riverfront, visible for miles around. The first thing I noticed when I entered was that they had way to many TV screens than they needed. All of 6 huge LCD screens adorned the walls, so I could only see the NFL playoffs in every direction I turned. We’d gone in on a Wednesday, which happened to be Burger Night. 3$ 99 for a basic burger, with sides and toppings costing a little more. If you pick right, you can end up with a reasonably heavy meal in under 10 $. The burgers were great, and the bartender was real sweet. Stay away from the Southwest sauce, it just kills your appetite.
I went there this weekend, the ketchup was not even full in the bottle. The waitress was lacking service. Empty ketchup really? I asked for something on my meal and was not there when I had asked her she said it’s under the food. I checked and didn’t see it. I got even more pissed off because I ordered it and it was extra!!!! Not to mention they screwed up my family members order 2 times!!!!! And had to wait 20 minutes EACH TIME! On top of it I told them not to put toppings on my food because I can’t eat that due to reactions yet she had them anyways. I left a tip anyways but really wanted to write what I think of her. Plus she was playing on the phone the whole time and talking to coworkers without looking at customers. I tried to flag down another waitress, but when she seen me do this she looked away and kept on walking. Terrible if you ask me. It’s like they don’t even care. I was ready to walk out of there without paying a cent before touching my food. And the least they could do is not chit chat on the cell phone with friends and other coworkers . This truely pissed me off so badly I just wanted to take my drink and throw it on the ground, that’s how pissed off I was. They did reduce the bill, but I’ll never go there again!!!! It was a huge waste of time. I mean how can you screw up someones order 2 times in a row and mine on top of it? It’s like I noticed she didn’t write down all the stuff I told her when taking the order. To bad looks don’t come with brains. A few of my friends even told me they use to go there but stopped because the service was horrible! No idea how they stay in business like this. Windsor is a small town people talk, word gets around then you go out of business. And the girls working there seem like they don’t really care at all one bit. Playing on the phones for 7 minutes before I could even flag her. I was beyond pissed off. I had to get the ketchup myself. I mean you pay for something and it’s not the way you ordered? How would you feel? Don’t use phones while at work to play games or text 24/7. You are there to work not play if I was your boss. YOU WOULD OF BEEN FIRED! After reading this. The owner of the place probably spent 2 times the amount of money just to remake the food twice because the order was taken wrong and I’ll never EVER go back there AGAIN!
So, overall, pretty standard pub food. Good size menu and options though, and I never realized you could have that many variations of wings – didn’t have the wings, so I can’t say if they are good at them or not. My friend did say the fish and chips were some of the best she’d had. Wraps were plentifully packed and good. Enjoyed the onion rings and didn’t even have to ask for them to be well done. Did discover I am not a poutine fan. The nachos were good but missing something….more cheese, tomatoes….more flavorful meat….not sure. The chips themselves were fantastic though. Andfor a small, it was really big. Service was good.
Top Wing Spot. I’ve been to a good amount of wing places in Windsor but the Goose takes the top prize.1. The quality of the wings are just fantastic.2. All you can eat deal is great3. Most importantly the amount of wing flavors to choose from is amazing. They are both creative and tasty. Downfall is that a couple times I have gone there the service has been absolutely awful (as in the server ignored/forgot about my table). But overall, its a definite place people should try.
Great food but the service isnt just bad its off putting. I have been consistently disrespected and lied to by staff thats when i am not being ignored. I only go if my friends drag me there and the loose goose proves me right every time. I understand slow service on a busy night but i have had staff members get me drinks (without me asking) or been offered a drink to make things better only to see these charges on my bill. I do like their food and the spot is very cool but the disrespect is too much i would not recommend it.
