Adorable and trendy place for brunch! Try the quinoa Bennie or the breakfast poutine. You won’t be disappointed! The wait times are usually minimal depending on the time of day but, with the addition of the new bar, you can sit and have a drink while you wait. Awesome walkerville location.
The Twisted Apron is this kickass brunch restaurant located in Walkerville. The restaurant itself is rather large, despite how it looks on the outside. It’s got a nice hipster modern decor. As soon as you walk in, you’ll notice the bar and waiting area. The dining room is adjacent to it. Menu here is breakfast and lunch with most items available all day. They have chalkboard specials up on the wall and change everyday.I ordered the Breakfast Poutine, which sounded incredible. Replace fries with house potatoes and get it topped off with chicken gravy, scrambled eggs, and bacon. The house potatoes stayed crisp despite the generous helping of gravy. The scrambled eggs were meh, but nice little chunks and strips of bacon made every forkful a nice little bite. It’s also served with toast so you can make a little sandwich if you like, or just have it on the side. The others in my group got a varied list of dishes such as the Chef’s Omelette, which was corned beef and sauerkrat that particular day. The croissant sandwich looked incredible as it was a giant croissant that shimmered from the buttering that had been lathered on. The pancakes were what the gf got and they looked amazing. Served with your choice of meat and a nice little cup of maple syrup.Be careful with arriving too late as this place gets busy fast. Not really ideal for larger groups, they do have a decent amount of tables and turnaround didn’t seem too bad despite the wait for our food.Word of Caution: They do NOT sit you unless your whole group is present, so if you have that one friend who fights his hangover a bit longer in the morning than most, just lie and tell him to be there a half hour earlier. cheatdayeveryday.com
I saw this place on You Gotta Eat Here and have wanted to try it out for a while. I’m so glad I did today. The interior is very warm and inviting. It almost felt like I was in someone’s dining room rather than a restaurant. There was great service as well since I think I only had to wait 10 minutes for our food. I had the breakfast poutine. From the first bite, I knew I found my new comfort food. Everything tasted so good, whether by itself or mixed with other ingredients. I couldn’t stop eating it and I felt like I was gonna cry when it was gone. Compliments to the chef forever. Would definetly recommend for breakfast in Windsor.
Recently came here for the first time and was very impressed. Great food and atmosphere. Loved the fried perch and thepulled pork eggs benny!! So yummy!!!! We will return VERY soon!!
New policy is terrible. Not a fan of the new policy. Tried to go for lunch. Party of 3. Our third was parking the car and they insisted they would not seat us until our 3rd was in the door. Meanwhile a couple other tables were seated ahead of us (that arrived after us) and when our 3rd walked in we were told that they were now full and we’d have to wait. Be warned. If your full party is not there you will be standing out in the cold. Thanks for nothing. The food at the Willistead across the street was great.
Slowest service ever for mediocre food. I came here with a friend the other day and we waited around 45 minutes for our food to arrive. Two other groups were seated 20 minutes after us and got their food long before we did. My friend ordered a burger and was put off the by the overly strong smell of garlic, and the servings of condiments were extremely small. Waitress barely checked in with us.. Although she was very nice when she did. The food was okay.
The decide atmosphere and service I absolutely love! However, the food is nothing mind blowing and the prices kill any chances it has. $16 for a breakfast sandwich and a cup or coffee for ONE PERSON is not okay!
