The atmosphere is not really that charming, reminds me of a dive bar but the food was great. First time trying it. I had a southern chicken sandwich with fries. The chicken was fresh and unprocessed, delicious BBQ sauce and fresh toppings, nice big bun. Fries were not ok. Very greasy. Seems like the oil wasn’t hot enough. My boyfriend got the cheeseburger and said it was good but a little dry. He loved thegravy for his fries. For two meals, drinks and 10% tip it was cheap $36 bucks.Service was good, food was out quickly. MENU had plenty of options, but probably not for you if you are dieting or vegetarian. Everyone was friendly and the dining experience was ok. Definitely will return soon and would recommend. [UPDATE]: Had breakfast here not too long ago. Was just meh. Eggs were so so, toast was more bread than toast, bacon was over greased and needed to be patted down with napkins. The breakfast potatoes were out of a box and on par with French fries (too darn greasy!). The breakfast did come very quickly though, which was a plus. Sometimes I find myself waiting 40 min for breakfast at other places whereas this one was about 10 min and the place was packed.
I went here with my friend to had a brunch on Sunday and it was my first time to visit this restaurant. I couldn’t find any interesting menu in there and the service was okay. So anyways, my order was Eggs Benedeict with Smoked Salmon with an additional Ham on the side. And my friend had pancakes with maple syrup. The good thing is, I don’t have to wait for long time for the food came to our table. The food was okay but I think they need to add more variant of food on their menu. So yeah, I would like to come back again some time
Montreal Smoked Meat would be cheaper in Montreal….. My 1st and last visit to this place…Maria’s Fifty’s Diner…the only thing that came close to the name of the restaurant was the cost of my Montreal Smoked meat sandwich…I mean, c’mon, for real…..I could drive to Montreal and get an authentic Smoked Meat sandwich and it would cost me less in gas…approx. than it would to order from their menu again…ridiculous to have to pay nearly $25 for a sandwich and drink(pop) for this kind of money…the quality wasn’t there, nor the quantity…won’t go back…..
Have gone here for breakfast a number of times. The food is excellent. The service is hit and miss.
2 Ply pancakes?. The waitress was great, didn’t catch her name. The coffee, eggs & bacon were fine. The homefries looked & tasted like they came from the frozen section of Scoly’s Hometown Market. The sausages were so so. And the pancakes literally separated in the middle like a pita. Maybe they were meant to be stuffed. I never seen that happen before.
Great service great food. Montreal Smoked Meat is on the menu! Home made rice pudding to die for!
