This is a bit of a landmark restaurant in the area east of Hamilton/Stoney Creek. I’ve been here a few times now, every time to the pub side not the formal dining room. Each time the food has been good, and it has a fun atmosphere but the service seems to be a little bit of an irritant. The servers just seem to have a bit of an attitude that they are doing you a favour, nothing blatant but it is an irritant. But I will go back, they have a number of daily specials that seem interesting and hopefully the attitude I’ve seen is just an anomaly.
Went here with my dining group for the Murder Mystery Dinner. I have gone here on many occasions in the past. however, this time we were seated in the basement. I really did not like this room at all. The acoustics are not good for this type of event. the room was packed and with nothing to absorb the sound it was loud. My group ordered all the choices on the prix fix menu. All reports was that the dinner was fantastic. the prime rib was succulent , the chicken cordon bleu was moist, the salmon was scrumptious, and the vegetarian eggplant parmiagane was good. The meal came with pasta- excellent, a anti pasta dish- good, and a dessert. The show was just ok. The detective was wonderful bit the rest of the actors did not make a good show. I would go back for a quiet dinner and not bother with the Mystery show.
