Terrible. I went in to order a cake and found the owners to be quit rude and pushy. It took a good 8 min for anyone to realize i was waiting at the counter, also i found the cupcakes to be very dry and over priced. I probably wont be returning i rather spend the same amount for a large half decent cupcake at Nicoles…
I am surprised by the poor reviews on Lavish Cupcakes. Been here 3 times recently and have had an amazing experience every time. As soon as you walk through the door the smell of freshly baked goods takes over you! The most recent time (about a week ago) when I walked up to the counter, the lady, whose name I didn’t catch was super friendly and even gave me a mini cupcake on the house after I had told her that I love the cupcakes here at Lavish. I ended up getting a dozen mini cupcakes with a final price of $27. Although these are a little pricey I personal feel that it’s definetly worth it. Flavours are original and delicious! Icing is a little sweet, but not overpowering and my favourite part is def the cake! moist and soft… Have been to SO many cupcake shops where the actual cupcake is HARD! I disagree with the poor reviews on lavish cupcakes and I will return!
Fantastic!. You know, here’s the thing that I don’t understand. Why do people waste their time, writing a bad review on places where people are putting their hearts and souls into their jobs or business? Do you think that if you write a stupid review like that, it will make the company feel bad? No, it doesn’t, it makes them stronger, and gives them something to work on, we’re not all perfect. Now, what I believe is that these people who work here in Lavish Cupcakes,, give themselves to their jobs. They dedicate their lives, everyday, coming in, and making those delicious pastries and goodies for those people who will come in, buy them, and enjoy them. They don’t make them for those haters. Stop writing comments that you think will put this place down, think about your employment, I know that you wouldn’t want these kind of things said about your company/business. Lavish Cupcakes’ pastries are deliciously marvelous! They are both beautifully decorated, and taste amazing! When you look at the pastries, your mouth will start to water, causing you to be a dozen, or more. The icing comes in many different flavors, that’s what I love! Once you buy these, you are going to have to work out afterwards because they will fill you up with joy in your tummy and in your mind. Go Lavish, go!
Not worth it. Cupcakes are okay at best. You can get much better cupcakes for a much better price 1 min away at Longos. What’s really terrible is the service. Surprised this place is still open. They send the baker out to the front desk. The baker doesn’t know how to communicate with customers and their queries – dismissing them with yes and no answers. Pathetic. No thank yous, no have a nice day…just happy to take your money and go to the back of the store again. You pay so much for tiny cupcakes, the least they can do is talk nicely, smile and communicate properly. Will not ever buy from them again – neighbours were planning on using them for an event – was so happy I talked them out of it. Will not recommend to anyone for sugar filled icing with frowns all around.
Fabulous. Stopped in on Saturday on a whim – what a pleasant surprise. The owner greeted us and was extremely friendly. We were actually just browsing. The owner gave us each a mini cupcake to try and an espresso – on the house. We bought the mini cupcakes to try the differnt flavours.I personally found these to be the best cupcakes I have ever tried. The were not overly sweet or sugary. On our way out we got a cakepop to try… yum!!!!!
Not worth the drive or the overpayment!!!. Arrived to the store on a weekday afternoon and was the only customer in the shop. Waited a few minutes to be even acknowledged and once I was, didn’t receive a very warm greeting nor an apology for the wait. Customer service is important to me and so, my visit was not off to a good start. The girl was on the phone and dilly-dallied doing other stuff before even coming to help me. While I was waiting to be helped, I looked at the daily offerings of cupcakes and pricing. I was immediately surprised at the individual pricing of the cupcakes. Though all were cutely decorated, $2.50 for a bite-sized cupcake and $5 for a large (which is actually a regular sized cupcake) seemed a little much. Was crossing my fingers that the pricing would be worth it. Unfortunately, it was not!!!I found the frosting overly sweet and grainy. Definitely not a true buttercream icing, which I feel should be smooth and silky. I would compare the icing to that found on a package of supermarket bakery cupcakes. If that was the flavour I was longing, I would have just gone and bought cupcakes at the grocery store and received more cupcakes for what I spent on 4 mini cupcakes. The cake itself was nothing spectacular. I’ve definitely had better. They weren’t very moist or soft. The flavour of the mini cupcake didn’t shine through, since it probably had an equivalent amount of the grainy icing mounded on top. I ended up scraping the frosting off to have a better taste of the cupcake and still wasn’t impressed. If the look of the cupcake and the decor of the place are most important to you, than this is your place. However, if you’re looking for a yummy cupcake to eat…spend your money elsewhere and get more than just a bite for almost the same price and also probably better service!!
Over price, not so good service. I went there with my kids after searching for a cupcake place up in Vaughan. Silly me not doing my complete research of the place and decided to go there anyways. I went on a Saturday which is not busy at all. The place looks nicely decor but looking at the cupcake display I noticed they mostly have bite size cupcakes which priced at $2.25. The regular size in other place at their was consider a large, priced at $5. OMG, I thought to myself. I don’t want to be rude and walk out since I drove all the way here so I bought 4, and the girl did give my daughter a free one to try. The cake it self is not soft, but all the icing is literally sugar, not buttercream. It’s soo sweet, I have to rub some off and just ate the bottom. So 4 cupcakes for $9, she charge me on the receipt for 6. On the way back I kept thinking something is wrong. I checked the receipt and end up going back to have a talk with them. The girl said she made mistake, they did refund me the rest but their place is not busy for them to make this mistake. That left me a bad taste in my mouth. Never go back. The one place I usually comes back for cupcakes is the wedding cake shoppe on college st. Their buttercream is smooth and all their cupcakes is not too sweet. The cupcake shoppe on yonge st is ok, their icing is abit sweeter than I would like and some of their icing texture are grainy from the sugar.
