Rating is a bit higher than what it might get over in Markham/Richmond Hill, but do you know how ‘effin hard it is to find Chinese BBQ in this area!?Hua Xing is this small (and I mean small) Chinese bbq spot in the corner of a pretty tight sketchy plaza on Jane near Lawrence. The place is only a takeout spot and is easily identifiable by the window showcasing dead animals. The menu only has a few items and that’s perfect because I’m already an indecisive person…I got 3 items on rice ($8) which included roast pork, BBQ pork, and roast duck on steamed white rice. The roast pork is the one with crispy skin and a nice layer of fat on the meat. Similar to pork belly, but not as tender, roast pork can be so good and they do a decent job here. The BBQ pork is the red glazed pork that was pretty juicy heretoo. The duck is great can be a bit fatty, even for me. All the combo meals also come with a drink too!I’m pretty stoked that I found a Chinese BBQ spot around, but it’s so damn sketchy around here. Not really going to stop me though. The place is small, but food is good and the prices are pretty cheap. Try not to park in the corner as you might get stuck with cars trying to park right in front of you! cheatdayeveryday.com
