I used to come here for years when it was Ambrosia, and the home-made pasta dishes were top notch, but since closing, and re-opening under different owners its not as good. They kept 4 of the most popular ambrosia dishes and gave them different names, but the quality and flavour is not there. The waitress assured me that it was the same cook, but it didn’t taste anywhere near the same or as good.Usually I would get a di bosco, which is now called Selvaggio, as well as the Sicilian and the flavour was unreal, but the food at new place is disappointing. It’s either a bit on the bland side and too hot (like the chicken pasta dish my friend had) or too sweet a sauce, such as in the selvaggio when it should be more savoury.Although the service was great, the food has gone way down in flavour and the atmophere could use a little less bizzarre of art choices, as well as some more working fans, as I was literally sweating in my chair while I ate. Next time I’ll check the beaute et le boeuf, or the British, as I heard they are good places to go.
I had lunch at Bistro Vitalia on a holiday Monday. My bacon-wrapped burger was seriously the best burger I’ve ever eaten in my life! It was so juicy and a perfect amount of zing. Hubby loved his pasta, said it was cooked perfectly al dente. The service was impeccable. The weather was beautiful for a patio lunch. I can’t recommend it enough.
