We made reservations for my husbands birthday. He was unsure about trying the surfing right away, so this was a great option.The ambiance was AMAZING! Where else would you be able to watch surfing while you eat? The place was humid and smelled like coconuts, it was like a vacation for dinner!The cons, and there are many…the service was atrocious. Absolutely horrible. I am not even that picky about service, but this just needs to improve or the place will sink.We made reservations and the hostess couldn’t even show us to our table. She pointed around and just asked us to go. When we couldn’t find it she looked annoyed and felt obligated to show us.Then we needed to add a 9th person to our table. They brought a chair but no cutlery or menu.The waitress, while friendly, was so freaking slow I felt like I’d leave before even receiving my first drink. Our reservations were at 7 and we didn’t leave before 10 pm. It was SO SLOW!We ordered apps and meals at the same time and everything took forever to arrive. Thankfully drinks have tons of alcohol or I’d have started to get really irritated.Finally apps showed up and they forgot to give spoons to people who ordered soup. Just really common sense when you are talking about customer service.Finally we paid and by accident I forgot to tip the waitress, she asked about a tip, and seemed annoyed at what I gave her. Like seriously? Your service is shite and half the staff just stands around doing nothing.The pros? The food was delicious! The mahi mahi tuna was perfect.So Management needs to really beef up their staff if they want this restaurant to be a success. Because while my husband was interested in paying the huge amount to try surfing…we might just go to Hawaii instead.
