  Very disappointed– meat dishes are several days old …. We recently heard this restaurant advertised on a local radio stn so decided to give it a try for the Sunday buffet. We saved up our appetites but we were very/ extremely disappointed in the quality of the meat dishes — chicken, pork griot, mutton & legume dishes all appeared & tasted several days old — and very tired looking — as if the meat had been fried to the dried out stage and then stuck and re-stuck in a vat of non-identifiable liquid — not really a sauce — more like a preserving type liquid — the staff were courteous but appeared somewhat anxious, nervous & appeared to have been trained to push diners out as soon as they had finished eating — at one stage a somewhat imposing, un-friendly & downright angry looking woman came out from the back & slammed a patio door shut right beside us — (the servers were using it to access the outside patio — was she the owner we asked ourselves..?) … The bottom line was the food lacked love & a passion for making people happy by giving them great, fresh food. The staff seemed scared — you could feel it — all in all not a pleasant or positive experience — Suggestions: prepare the food in batches fresh — As for putting love into the food & making the place feel happy & welcoming in general — if it is only about making money and not about anything else — then it can never become the former — PS we just came back from NYC and they would never accept this quality of food or negative ambience — people would absolutely refuse to go there — unfortunately this place is not alone in Montreal — many have inferior food with a take it or leave it attitude — diners here need to start to expect more !!!!

  Plus jamais. J’ai fait une rservation ce restaurant l’occasion du baptme de mon fils la semaine dernire et malheureusement j’ai t trs due par la tournure des vnements. Nous tions un groupe d’environ 40 personnes et nous tions venus pour la formule buffet du dimanche. La plupart des invits ainsi que moi-mme avons aim la nourriture du buffet par contre, nous avons trouv que le terme buffet et le prix du buffet (17,99$/adulte) tait quelque peu exagr compte tenu du manque de varit de la nourriture offerte. De plus, j’ai t due par le manque de service offert car mis part remplir nos verres aucune serveuse ainsi que la propritaire a demand aux clients si tout allait bien. De plus, j’avais amen le gteau de baptme de mon fils et imaginez-vous que j’ai d couper moi-mme les portions du gteau et les servir mes invits. Devant le peu de service offert et le fait que cela n’avait pas t stipul lors de la signature du contrat, quelle ne fut pas ma surprise de voir que le pourboire m’avait t charg sur ma facture finale sans oublier que certains de mes invits ont laisss un pourboire la propritaire sans qu’elle leur dise que cela n’tait pas ncessaire puisqu’elle me l’avait dj charg… En bout de ligne, je me suis ramasse avec une facture finale sale puisqu’il y a eu plus de gens qui m’ont t chargs que le nbre que j’avais compt et lorsque j’ai appel la propritaire pour lui signaler son erreur et savoir si il y avait moyen de recalculer le tout ensemble elle m’a insulte et m’a raccroche la ligne au nez. Pour toutes ces raisons, je ne recommande pas ce resto pour une formule de groupe et n’y retournerai plus car je pense quune propritaire de restaurant se doit de respecter tous ses clients quelque soit leur origine, ge, statut social etc.

  Had the Cabrit plate at lunchtime. Amazing. The meat is extremely tender, the rice is incredible and on the spicy side, the salad rocks and the plantain!!! The plates are very generous, and the service is nice. Clean place, nice decor, and out food came blazingly fast. And all this for…$8.99??? I’ll come again, for sure.

  Good bang for you buck!. I only go for take-out so I can’t comment on their service that much except that we’ve never had a problem thus far. The food is great and you get a lot in one plate. My best friend is Haitian & this is the place we go to when we crave some griot. It helps that it’s close to home too and not usually busy when we pop in.

  Worst customer service in the world!!!!!. This place does not know how to serve people. They are not at all professional and have no respect for the customers. I was treated with ultimate disregard at this restaurant and especially by the owner herself!! After making a mistake with my order she actually hung up on me when I tried to explain to her the mistake. She made me wait 45 minutes for a refund that she herself never gave me. In fact she never spoke to me directly and a another customer, after hearing my complaint reimbursed me out of there own money when witnessing her disgusting behavior. The food may be good, but the bad service will make you loose your appetite. Honestly, I am Haitian myself and she is a disgrace to the community and does not represent the Haitian hospitality at all!!!! I do not recommend this restaurant at all!! I will never go again!!!!!
