Been eating at Kam Shing restaurants for over 20 years. The service is hit or miss. Always has been. Always will be. You don’t go here for service. The food is fresh. Tasty. Prices are fair. Great place for groups or a date!
We ordered (take out) the general tao and the noodles with veggies and chicken.General tao: half the chicken dry without any sauce and NO RICE! We only realized when we got home, looked at the menu again, and they sell white steamed rice for 8.99$ separately….Noodles with chicken: dry (very dry) vermicelli and BOILED chickenNot going back there…
At the end of the day – It’s all about the food.. Been going to this restaurant ever since it opened and before that, we went to the original one in Chinatown called Fung Shing. A waiter and chef left Chinatown and opened Kam Shing in Montreal. Then another in Laval. The service had always been lacking but the food kept me going back. We started tipping 20% and lo and behold, the waiters warmed up to us 😉 They share the tips at the end of evening so tipping effects all of them. We are greeted with a smile now. We always order the won ton soup, the Cantonese chow mein and the lemon chicken. Their Chinese style shrimps are unbeatable and on the very special occasions we splurge on their Lobster with ginger. It comes already chopped so you just have to pull the meat out or suck on the shell. I’m drooling as I speak. Lobster season has just begun so get out there this month (May). You won’t be disappointed.
Love the food . Service is…. Love the food . Service is not bad in Laval location butnot as top service like the location in Montreal .Delicious chow-mein and you should really try the salt and pepper shrimps.Go for it . It’s a must in Laval
De loin la meilleure soupe won ton et les meilleures nouilles singapour que j’ai mang. C’est vrai que le dcor et le service sont moyens mais la bouffe compense largement. Le gnral tao est aussi vraiment trs bon
Kam Shing…The worst Service Ever!!. We were recommended to this place and so was one of the people we were with. This place has absolutely No service. When we entered, we had to go up to someone at the counter for our table since no one was bothering with us. Had to ask for water, had to get them to change a really gross glass from the table, fork and knife were sticky and had to request for the waiter since they would not approach the table. When we could get one to either order, clean dishes off of the table. The dish cart was right behind us and they were throwing the dishes in this cart making extreme noise. The complete outlook of this restaurant is dirty and NO Service!!No help with the menu either. The one thing that was great was the won ton soup with shrimp. Everything else was very very poor. I DO NOT RECOMMEND !!
I miss kam shing i love the shrimp called saw peper shrimp
