Dislike it. Food is plain and simply put not good. I went there on few occasions, because I was invited, not because I wanted to return. Order different plates eveytime and disappointed everytime. So much better restos out there for the same price .
Horrible experience. The food may be good for the price but the service is inexcusable. I organized my daughters baptism, a party of 47 people at Ottavio Laval, on Nov 4, 2012. I was surprised by a few charges on the bill and decided to go see the manager. Some of the charges i was inquiring about included: i was charged for 47 adult meals (however, we were 44 adults and 3 children aged 4, 5, and 7 and the manager insisted that only adult meals came out of his kitchen), i was charged $2.50 for a glass of milk that a pregnant woman asked for instead of coffee (meanwhile soft drinks and coffee were included) i considered this extremely petty, among other charges. He immediately got defensive and did not address me in a professional manner. I told him that i did not appreciate his attitude and that i may not consider returning to the restaurant. To this he responded, Well if youre not coming back then why should i continue to talk to you. And through the bill back at me. I was left speechless!!! This is how customers are treated (especially one who brought in such a large party and spending approx $1500)!?! I was utterly disgusted, reduced my payment by what i thought i should not be responsible for ($100) and stormed out. The next day i realized that i forgot to ask for my deposit credited back to me (a $100 deposit is required to make a reservation at Ottavio restaurants). When i called the manager the next day he said it would not be returned since i reduced my payment. This is ridiculous because the deposit is a completely separate affair and the Ottavio policy states that it will not be refunded only in situations where the number of people reserved for and that actually show up differ by more than 25%, which was not the case with my party. They are keeping my deposit hostage!!! I cant believe the unbelievable poor customer service i have experienced with the managers at Ottavio Laval. I, along with my 46 family members and friends, will DEFINITELY NEVER RETURN and i recommend that you dont either!!!
Not Impressed. I didn’t think I would be impressed when I was invited to attend a party at this restaurant and I was right. I was actually even less impressed when I stepped in. The food was ok, the menu very limited, the service (not enough employees) I couldn’t believe for a party of 50 or so they waiters were bringing one plate at a time, two at the most every few minutes or so. The squised us so bad I basically had the person next to me sitting on top of me so we could fit. Food – okMenu – boring and limitedService – can’t really blame the staff, they couldn’t move around either
Wasn’t a fan about the selection of pizza they have to choose from. Nothing great overall. Price doesn’t match quality either.
One of the best concepts out there. Great food, great prices and prompt service. It’s hard to find this combo out there. Great gluten free menu to accommodate celiacs. Good job!
Dilemma…. I’ve been to Ottavio in St-Laurent, however, i dont think i will ever go back, especially to this one…prices aren’t too steep, i mean the quality of food you get is at par with the prices…however the service is not. Problem is, being Italian, it’s hard to fork out money for pasta and stuff I can eat at home…
