Mon Village is an ancestral home that serves as a restaurant and pub in the St. Lazare/Hudson region of Montreal . It has been around for decades and very popular with the locals. A little out of the way for those living in town, it is a good trek out to the country . I went for Sunday brunch with a group of friends who live out there and raved about the place. Set up and decor really rustic with seperate dining rooms and large fireplace making it cozy on cold winter days. In summer their backyard terrace for dining is a breath of fresh air and very relaxing. As for the food, they bring us some classic Quebecois dishes. For brunch it is a typical buffet with limited choices and very expensive for $ 31.00 with tax and tip per person. Food is mediocre and standard, montrealfoofoodie.com

Great decor and location. Average food. I would not go out of my way to try the food here. Everything was good but over priced and nothing special.Lamb kabobs where very juicy but had no seasoning. steamed veggies tasted like they came straight out of the microwave. Steamed rice was very bland with no seasoning. Please try adding butter and salt at least to these steamed dishes mon village! ;)Starter salad was alright, but I do not like fruit in my salads!!Fresh summer dressing with spinach and strawberries and some kind of sweet crunchy pieces to top the salad.Took two attempts to get the check. Will not be returning anytime soon.
