FOOD:We had come for a visit to the museum on a Tuesday afternoon therefore, we had decided to stop for lunch at this restaurant as we were quite hungry after touring two floors. I had settled on the Open-Faced Chicken Sandwich With French Fries ($14.00), while my father had settled on the Pasta With Shrimp & Salmon ($13.00), and a Boreale Rousse Beer ($5.50). In terms of the Open-Faced Chicken Sandwich, I really liked the fig spread that was on it, that was absolutely delicious! I also liked the melted cheese, and the crunchy bread on the bottom. However, I did find the sandwich to be a bit too small, and the piece of chicken was a bit dry as well. I would have liked if the sandwich itself, and the fries, were a larger portion as I tended to still be a bit hungry afterwards. My father however was raving about his pasta dish, and loved how delicious it all tasted together. He also commented on how great the beer was since it was a beer that he had never tried before. Overall, the food was very-well prepared however, we both found the portion sizes to be a bit too small for the prices that we had paid.ATMOSPHERE:We enjoyed how clean and inviting the atmosphere seemed to be, from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. We felt comfortable as all of the servers spoke English (since we didn’t speak French), and they seemed to present themselves very professionally. I found that the table seating was very large, and it felt as though we were dining in a resort; very polished and well-presented as a restaurant.SERVICE:We were initially served by a kind younger woman that answered all of our questions with kindness and patience. We were then given our food by a different younger woman, whom cleared our dishes immediately and brought our bill when we had asked for it. The service was very attentive, with our water glasses being filled often, and our orders being looked-after very diligently.COST:1 Open-Faced Chicken Sandwich With French Fries ($14.00) + 1 Pasta With Shrimp & Salmon ($13.00) + 1 Boreale Rousse Beer ($5.50) = $37.35 (Taxes Included)WOULD YOU RETURN?Most definitely! We really liked the atmosphere and service, along with the taste of the food. I would try something with a larger portion however as I was still a tad hungry after finishing my meal.

Lovely Museum dining. Finally a lovely Museum restaurant in the Nation’s capital. The new bistro at the Canadian Museum of Civilization is terrific. The decor is casually elegant, the seating is comfortable. The food is excellent. Don’t miss the pecan pie!!!
