I went for Sunday brunch last weekend and had a very pleasant meal. My family had the pancakes, smoked salmon eggs benedict, and the omelette. All 3 dishes were extremely well done. Proper hollandaise, real maple syrup, well poached egg, fluffy omelette, buttery pancakes. My favourite was that my eggs benedict came on acroissant, a very nice touch. It was one of the best brunches I’ve had in a long time, especially for the price. The service was veryquick and friendly. My only criticisms would be: 1. They were holding a large number of tables (like 4 tables of 4)for reservations that didn’t come by the time we leftan hour later and they almost didn’t seat us (table of4)even though the 30 seat restaurant was half empty. If I were the owner, I might review this policy. 2. I can see how some of the other reviewers below didn’t enjoy interacting with the chef/owner. After having worked in the industry for several years, he is a pretty typical chef that’s usually hidden in the back whereas the kitchen in this restaurant is right in the dining room so you get to be party to all the goings on. A little brash and very anglophone in a francophone area, his demeanor probably rubs a lot of people the wrong way, which is unfortunate because he did seem very friendly once you got over his abruptness. Overall, I will be going back, and I would highly recommend other people giving it a try, just makea reservation for brunch.

Most disappointing experience in a long time. I went to Caf Cinq Sens today with a friend for lunch. My friend had heard of this place and wanted to try it. The menu seemed diverse and exciting, and when I saw a picture of the Paella, I felt it would be a great choice. My order came in and it looked nothing like I was expecting. Bruised avocado, no spices, bland taste. Needless to say I did not finish my meal. In an effort to be helpful, the waitress asked me if something was wrong with my meal and I just mentioned it would need a bit more taste or spice. The cook yelled from across the restaurant to ask what was wrong. I got up to come closer to him and pay, while at the counter I mentioned my meal being a little bland, only to be answered that he has served hundreds without any complaint, that quinoa was natural and healthy and that’s how it was supposed to be served. Well I am sorry Mr. Cook, but being healthy does not mean tasteless. Perhaps you should eat at Pure Kitchen or Edgar to see that you do not trade taste for health. I found this man to be extremely rude, and my friend and I will never go there again.Avoid if you can.

Food looked great but sadly after an ENTIRE HOUR of sitting our order was never taken. Chef/owner is incredibly rude and obnoxious. We left and will not be returning, ungodly customer service… such a shame, we had heard good things.

Perfect little open kitchen cafe. We had eggs Benny with candied bacon and Ribeye steak and eggs. Great coffee and small prices on everything. Gotta go.
