Went there a couple of times, always liked it except for the last time. I ordered the fish of the day (which turned out to be shrimps) and I was really disappointed. $24 for 5 small shrimps and some couscous?! Really not worth it. I even double checked with the waitress who was surprised by the price as well. When I told the manager that I thought it was way too pricey for what it was he just said shrugged it off. Really disappointed by how customers are treated.
Wonderful. We often brunch here, eggs benedict is what we fancy most because the sauce is fresh and home made, not that powdered stuff…No no no….Staff is superb and the owner is prety much always on hand.
Disapointing. Been there before. today potato and zucchini cream was starchy and bland. Fries and croque madame were soft and almost cold. service was weird. Female server would bring the main dish while my friend was still eating his soup. she made a weird comment: ok! take your last spoonful. not going back for a while. maybe never. other restaurants in region that are much better.
Des moules. Une soire entre amis de moules et frites. Quel dlice! On a pass une super belle soire et le service tait impeccable. Les prix sont franchement trs correctes. On tait 6 personnes et tout le monde bien apprci.Essayez-le, vous ne serez pas dus
Plus jamais! never again!. I went to eat at the Caf Cognac for the first time in July 2012. I had ordered pasta. What a disappointment! They literally bathed in oil (poor quality on top of it). After a few bites, they froze because after a few moments, they became cold. I was unable to finish my meal. Yesterday, (24 September 2012), we were invited as well as fifty people to eat there again. Again, what a disappointment! The meal was cold, starting with the cream of carrot and ending with the filet mignon and mashed potatoes. The plates were not preheated (this is also what had happened in July) to maintain a minimum of heat to food. I understand that to serve 50 guests may take time, but when the event and the menu are determined well in advance, the restaurant would benefit from a little more care of its customers. Although the staff is courteous and affable, and the welcome is warm, it is not enough to make me return. We go to a restaurant to eat. Not to be entertained by all the friendly staff! As they say it is 2 in 2. There are too many good restaurants in town where the food is warm and comforting to strive to return to Coffee Cognac. Aprs quelques bouches, elles taient figes car devenues froides et ce, aprs quelques instants. Jai t incapable de finir mon plat. Hier soir (24 septembre 2012), nous avons t invits ainsi quune cinquantaine de personnes y manger de nouveau. Encore une fois, quelle dception!!! Tout le repas tait tide, froid certains endroits, en commenant par la crme de carottes et en finissant par le filet mignon et pommes de terre piles. Les assiettes navaient pas t prchauffes (cest aussi ce qui stait passe en juillet) pour conserver un minimum de chaleur aux aliments. Je comprends que de servir 50 convives peut prendre du temps, mais quand lvnement et le menu sont dtermins longtemps davance, le restaurateur aurait avantage se soucier un peu plus de sa clientle. Bien que le personnel soit affable et courtois et que laccueil y soit chaleureux, cela nest pas suffisant pour my faire retourner. Nous allons au restaurant pour manger. Pas pour se divertir avec tout le gentil personnel! Comme on dit, cest 2 en 2. Il y a trop de bons restaurants en ville o la nourriture est chaude et rconfortante pour sacharner retourner au Caf Cognac. Plus jamais!
Fine Dining Incredible Menu. We entertained our guests from the Niagara region. As international travelers, they only appreciate fine dining. I researched various restaurants and Cafe Cognac’s website showed promise. We arrived as a group of five and were immediately impressed with the bright spartan dining area with beautiful art works by artists displayed on the walls. They provided a great ambiance to this hidden gem of a restaurant.. While it was a late lunch the menu provided a delectable list almost to hard to chose from. The men chose the mussels with an endless choice of sauces almost to hard to chose. The ladies went on the lighter side. Our server was gracious and very helpful. The bottom line was that this was an absolute great experience we won’t forget. The servings were more than we expected. The meals were meant for royalty. The grand finale was a strawberry rhubarb pie with ice cream that would exceed your most critical expectation. The price was moderate and well within budget for those customers that expect good value.
Great breakfast, Great staff. Go almost every sunday morning, never have to wait very long even when there is a lot of people, everyone is friendly and make sure that they take very good care of you. Service is great and quick!!
