Horrible. Prices are extremely high. Service is poor as the employees talk loudly together and count the cash in front of you that they have practically stolen from you and argue with supplies right in the deli. Back bacon was hard as a rock and I don’t like sausage and I am told they would lose money giving me bacon. So for scrambled eggs and dried up backbacon and a hash brown $8.20. Prices continue to rise as the quality of the food has gone way down.
200 Montcalm – A few Issues. Been going to Vasanti since they opened, and while I did enjoy them in the beginning, things seems to be going downhill. The quality of their food is nowhere near as good as it used to be, the prices are getting more expensive, Menus and prices no longer clearly posted, the roll-over of employees is unbelievable, so you often get people with no idea what they are doing. As for the food on the lunch menu. Someone there went completely pea crazy! Peas can be a wonderful tasty and nutritious addition to many recipes, but when the quantity of peas is MORE that 60% of the recipe, we are going a little overboard. Remember you are paying these peas by weight.I have also noticed that the morning muffins have become very dry, new recipe or over baked? Maybe both. They have changed the coffee cups, making them smaller for the same price. I have reduced how much I purchase there, experimenting more with other local businesses in the area (and bringing my own stuff) and I expect to shortly diminish even more.
Great Service and Food. Ive been working at 200 Montcalm for years and this restaurant has offered nothing but freindly smiles and good quality food. The owners and employees have always been very pleasent and many of my colleagues share my sentiments. Pricing and quality is consistent.
Worst customer service. This place is very unprofessionally run. The owner (Anna) yells at her employees, doesn’t give you back correct change and charges different prices all the time. You never know how much whatever you get will cost you. Their food comes from frozen and is never fresh, no expiry dates on their baked goods and the same stuff that is left over on Friday gets served on Monday! If you ever question the owner on any of the products for quality or price she will yell at you. There are many options for good coffee a short walk away so make sure you only use Cafe Vasanti when you are in dire need of a coffee.
