This place is good for large gatherings. The food is better than most pub food. The fries tend to be too overdone so I don’t recommend ordering them. The salads are large. This visit I had the club sandwich, see photo.
As a micro-brewery and resto in old Hull it was a fantastic experience. Sampling a variety of brewed in pub beers was a lot of fun. Unfortunately I was having so much fun catching up with a old friend I forgot to grab the names of what I was trying out. I do remember the IPA and the ALE and I think I did the Red too. Anyways all was excellent, and great bar food as well. I will be back with a full review of specific beers and such.
Trs bon resto-pub !. J’y suis all samedi soir, vers 17:00. Le choix de bires de micro-brasserie locale tait trs bon, et j’en ai pris 3 chantillons (rousse, brune et scotch). Les trois bires taient excellentes ! J’ai pris le burger Gainsbourg et Wow, vraiment excellent et trs goteux !! Mon pouse a commander le poisson et frite. Elle l’a trouv moyen, possiblement cause de la cuisson (nous avons eu l’impression que l’huile cuisson n’avait pas t rchauffe depuis longtemps…).Belle place, belle ambiance et je vais y retourner !Cheers !

Bonne bouffe, service laisse dsirer. Il faut essayer la chaudre de poisson – un bon plat rempli de fruits de mer et poisson pour 14$. Wow. Le baluchon de brie est bon aussi, on a demand au serveur de le rchauffer puisqu’on nous l’a servi encore dur… aussi…j’viterais les salades au complet. Le service n’est pas le meilleur. J’ai l’impression que les serveurs ont trop de tables et n’arrivent juste pas fournir. L’ambiance est agrable
Overall good experience. Was at Gainsbourg for lunch on Friday with a group of 15. The service was really good, orders taken quickly and the drinks and food served fast. I was happy to see that my burger was not one of those prefab frozen patties, while it was fresh and well garnished it was a little bland and could use better seasoning. The fries are really really good. The presentation was fantastic and very original. One of my colleagues had mussels and fries and she said they were fantastic. the decor is also very well done, warm and inviting. but after going through the extent of creating this ambiance and a beautiful presentation for their dishes, why did they stop short at the cutlery? they seemed sourced from a dollar shop, thin and flimsy with sharp edges. Maybe it’s and oversight, maybe I’m just picky but it just doesn’t fit with the rest. I’ll go back but for finger food only 🙂
Belle dcouverte. D’abord une palette de 3 bires dont la stout l’absinthe est une pure rvlation. Puis une chaudre de crevettes et chorizo servis dans une mini pole de fonte avec lgumes braiss servis sur une planche de service taient un pur dlice.Seule note negative: le pain devrait tre au centre de la table tellement la sauce est dlivieuse. Vint ensuite le gteau aux 3 chocolats qui m’a compltement fait oubli mon diabte. Je m’en suis souvenu juste avant d’en commander un 2ime. La serveuse, Karine, et le service en gnral a t exceptionnel. Comme je dois revenir assez souvent dans la rgion je me promets de retourner rgulirement cet tablissement. Prix trs raisonnable: 35$ pour le tout.
