Went there for beer and got the selection platter. There were more beer choices than three Brewers in Ottawa, but the taste was what you could expect from a microbrewery: interesting taste, but weak and lacked substance of more established breweries. The food was not spectacular and was what I expected from a bar place.
Pleasant restaurant, particularly if it is a lovely day & you can sit on the patio by the river, as it is removed from the city noise. The selection of beers is great, the food is tasty & the service is friendly (for the large group I was with, the service was a little slow, but okay).
Vous devez absolument aimer la bire maison! Toutes les bires goutent la mme base… Toujours un arrire got d’IPA… Faut aimer… Point de vue bouffe, c’est OK rien de plus, le service est bon et la terrasse est belle malgr le ruisseau de la brasserie qui est horrible regarder! Le biilding est de toute beaut parcontre! J’y retourne une ou deux fois par anne!
The last chance…i’ve given it many. I’ve given BDT many chances, i’ve been there maby 8 times, perhaps one or two more. 50% of the time its a great place the other 50% it is unbearable. I mean in terms of service being poor, very poor and painfully slow. This most recent time we went in last week. We made a reservation and arrived at 5:30. We were sat near the main door basically alone in a small section (is this the English section or something?). The entire patio was full (with many extra-seats however, so no need for this special area we were in). The back, more trendy section was 1/2 full. We ordered a beer and it came quickly. The beer was tasty but again, their beer’s are not top notch, the are just good. Better than the Clocktower in Ottawa, but a step below most Quebec beers. Then we ordered food…and waited…and waited. We waited 50 minutes and the waiter brought over the wrong order, not even close. They brought it back…we waited…and waited. Another 50 minutes! We actually spoke to the manager who gave us a free beer…gee, thanks. We actually decided to leave but our food literally appeared just as we were getting ready to leave. They charged us full price with the free beer. for nearly 2 hours of waiting for food. Read the reviews on here, this is legit and it happens all the time. I have no idea how this place can be so incompetent.
Service way too slow. A large group of us arrived for our reservation promptly at noon. We got our drinks pretty quickly and then we waited an hour and a half before any of the food arrived. It was delicious but not good enough for me to go back there. I don’t like to wait that long for lunch especially on a work day. They really need to speed things us. After all, it was just salads and burgers/sandwiches.
Beer good; food AWFUL – avoid at all costs. We were a group of 6 on a Thursday evening and ordered several dishes from the menu with great anticipation.The poutine was insipid, the gravy rancid, and the smoked meat topping appeared to be chunks of bologna.The chicken and waffles dish was dry as a bone and appeared to have been prepared some hours earlier.The rib dish was a disaster – cold meal, poorly plated, bad sauce.A post meal latte was served cold.Dessert of Crme brle and gateau au chocolat were extremely disappointing and stale.The kitchen was having a very bad night. In our group of 6, no one had a decent meal.One can only assume that someone had quit and left the restaurant without trained cooks in the kitchen. Very disappointing.
