A hidden gem!. Excellent soups, salads and sandwiches! Unique flavors every week and a favorite with the connoisseurs in the area. Today I had a coconut squash soup and the general tsao tacos, they were rich in flavor and you could tell the ingredients were fresh and well prepared.
Solid lunch spot, well located for the work crowd to pop by …. Zest has a good thing going. I have found their sandwiches to be too small and uninspired, but the alternatives (pulled pork, tacos, salad, etc.) are rich and delicious. The servers are friendly and attentive, and on more than one occaison have brought out an unexpected dessert to share, on the house. They are always experimenting with something new – most recently I bought a giant cookie which contains pretzels and chips. It was (very unexpectedly) delicious. The price point is exactly right – I wouldn’t pay any more, but it’s fair. Dining at this restaurant is a pleasure.
Hell yes!. I had the turkey on naan, brie, pear, mango chutney. Really fresh, the cheese was creamy, the naan was that perfect combo of crisp outside and doughy inside. They also put a lot of cinnamon in the chutney, which was awesome. And they didn’t skimp on the meat: sometimes the trouble with fancy sandwich places is that the portions are too small or they focus too much on veggies. Not these guys. The coffee is the best I’ve found so far in the area (Portage), and it was awesome that they use a french press. There wasn’t a ton of seating, but there was a cute patio out front. Considering how good it was, I’m surprised it wasn’t more busy, but maybe most people grab their food to go, or are insane.
