Sahib is an Indian restaurant which serves authentic Indian cuisine in Montreal,Canada. It has a bar and a full-service restaurant with an ambience to match Indian standards. They have an elaborate menu to offer and you would be amazed to know thats its frequented by a lot of foreigners due to its popularity in the region. So we had been there after a long day and wanted to have something that just sufficed our hunger, so we ordered a Meat Platter which came with an assortment of chicken, lamb, and prawns grilled along with the veggie if the day and 2 Naans. We ordered a serving of Chicken Jalfrezi and some extra Naans. Now starting with the platter which has 2 pieces of chicken tandoor, looked like one of the specials and cooked in very authentic way, spiced beautifully and chicken being tender enhanced its taste. A big piece of lamb, now cooking lamb is really tough and if you get it right, you do justice to it. They nailed it, seasoned and marinated correctly with the perfect cook made it taste just awwwsome. A single prawn to the platter again grilled in the same way. The veggie of the day was a beans sabzi, made n rich Indian style matching the restaurant quality flair. The starters were served with Pudina Chutney, which was a standout, given the fact that I have tasted a lot of chutneys like this, somehow theirs was really out of the box and really very different. The chicken Jalfrezi was a distinct one from what we get in India, tasted really awesome, made in a curry and served hot. The naans were a delight, not sure if they were made in traditional or electric tandoors, but they tasted as if they came from one of those authentic street outlets where you would get lipsmacking naans by the roadside. We also ordered mango lassi, not the very authentic punjabi lassi but made with mango pulp, though it tasted really good. Coming to the ambience, I would say a calm and serene place perfect for all types of crowds to visit the restaurant.

Have gone many times to Sahib over the years. The Sunday evening buffet is one of my favorites as they have everything your heart can possibly desire in terms of Indian favorites. Of course freshest is not optimal here especially when it has been sitting under the infra red lights. But it comes at a good price for value. I recommend you come early and indulge, this way you are guaranteed better food. The restaurant is a little dark but cosy and unpretentious. If buffet does not tickle your fancy go a la carte, it is good and comparable to other Indian restaurants in Wets island. montrealfoofoodie.com

This is definitely my go-to indian food ! We always go during their buffet time, which I find its best when you want to enjoy a piece of all their traditional meals (butter chicken, lamb, etc). Everything is pretty delicious and very tasty. Im rarely disappointed when I go there. Its a great place !

I was sure I had reviewed Sahib before, but I cannot find any record of a previous review. Under the circumstances, here’s a new one:I’ve had Indian buffet in numerous cities all over North America. This is still my favourite. What sets it apart? Consistent high quality. Delicate nuances. Wide selection. Amazing naan. I could go on and on, but there is no point in talking more. If you haven’t tried it yet, you simply must.

One of the best Indian Restaurants in Montreal. It reminded me of some great fine dining places in India. Will be going back again in future

The Beef Korma Balti and Peshawari naan are my Friday afternoon ritual! My vegetarian friends love this place as well! Delivery should be cheaper though.

This place is good Indian comfort food. The menu is wide and varied, and the currys are authentic. There’s a reason I’m a repeat customer here – good food for a reasonable price.
