Le Mitoyen Restaurant: Awful, not worth the $$$7 of us were expecting a great experience based on the good reviews. Wewere celebrating the 25th wedding anniversary of my sister andbrother in law.Four of us started with a cream of carrot. We got it, it had so muchsalt it literally burnt your mouth. My girlfriend had a salad but tried thecream out of my plate and almost threw up. All 7 of us tried it and everybodyagreed: uneatable! So? You tell the waitress, right? We all told her the soup was burnt bysalt and guess what the answer was: impossible. My brother in law intervenedand pushed his rank of cook, and repeated to her that it was disgusting. So? You would figure that all plates leave for the kitchen and thewaitress would come back with freshly made soup and a grave apology, right?Wrong again! Boy, youre really not good at this! The plates came back DILLUTEDIN WATER!!!! The soup was so clear it was not soup anymore, it was consummate! Icould see the bottom of my plate through the mixture! Talk about taking yourclients for ignorant fools! The soups all went back and we had the salad instead, even the onesthat did not want salad. We were certainly not going to chance it a third time.Thank god we were in good company. The soup was certainly the joke ofthe evening and will probably be for years to come: Man, there was so muchsalt in that soup, surprised there still was some left to put on the table; orCan you pass the salt please? Sorry, theres no more, it was all in the soup!;or Dont put salt on your potatoes, the waitress is watching you!, or Passme a pepper grinder, Ill try to cut the salt in my soup, you get the idea. And through all that, not one single apology, bill reduction, digestiveon the house, N_O_T_H_I_N_G. Apparently this restaurant is owned by a chef? What a joke! Only excuses: to heir is human I heard the waitress say. Well, sure is. But we should all assume our errors and heres one for you: 2 wrongsdont make a right.Awful food, questionable service, terribly overpriced, immensely overrated.Well never go back and I recommend anybody not to go there.

A new favourite. I had read about this restaurant in an article naming several restaurants worth rediscovering. Le Mitoyen has been around 35 years! I lived in Laval for most of my life but had never heard about it – a hidden gem. My husband and I decided to try it for Valentine’s day. The restaurant is cozy and quaint. We had a seven course tasting menu. The highlights were the beef cheek smoked meat, served over a wheat berry salad , the seared fois gras (the best!) and the cheese course which was served with a kumquat compote. The service was beyond reproach. We cannot wait to go back!16 Feb, 2015The Beef Cheek Smoked Meat Appetizer. The most tender, lean and delicious smoked meat served with a few potato chips on top. All is served over a warm wheat berry salad.
What an amazing experience!!! The food/wine 8 course paring was a culinary delight! The service was perfection!!! I highly suggest to try this if you the opprotunity!
Le Mitoyen – Exquisite culinary experience. I recently had the chance to go at Le Mitoyen and this was a great experience. They offer high class meal and service in a warm and peaceful ambience. The presentation of the food was perfect and showed the attention place on quality. Le Mitoyen also offers a special menu pairing wine with food. This is what I chose and it came out being one of the best culinary experiences I ever had, a seven services diner.
