The third and final stop to my Montreal beer tour was at this converted bank to pub concept featuring beers inspired from the three countries that make up the pub’s name (Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg).Great quality of beers at this stop as well, but the trick (which I don’t know if it’s actually available to other customers) is pairing the beers with some strong Valrhona chocolates. The hoppy Bungalow IPA and La Marge stout were two very different beers, but paired with a variety of chocolates opened up new flavours. It’s very mild, but if you stop and taste and smell everything, it’s actually a nice enjoyable difference. There’s about 10 house beers at this spot so there’s great variety to choose from and enjoy. Another interesting find for beers in Montreal.

Benelux Brewpub is on our list of local breweries to visit on this trip. But with too much drinking the last few nights… we never made it for a night cap until our last day for afternoon beer time. Not busy at all, definitely a good place to chill. We shared a few $2 samplers:Lux – BlondeZeeland – SaisonSemuta – Saison Amber Motek – Imperial PilsnerSabotage – IPACimonak – PorterThe beers were all A-OK and quite enjoyable. Nothing really stand out to be exceptionally awesome. Free Wifi with tons of electric outlets! If Benelux is near my house, I think I will be here during the day and do some work and drink beers…instead of going to a library or Starbucks!

Great if you’re into beer, lots of choices to pick from and knowledgeable staff to help you with your choices. Ambiance and decor are very laid back and there is also a terrasse during warm months. sebblog.com

It was very crowded, good vibe. Our server was able to save us a table, offered to start a tab, and was very friendly. Beer is great!

Great End to a Great Night. First time in Canada, first time in Montreal. Had some good and bad experiences in the 10 days that I’ve been in the country, but my first night in Montreal has been exceptional. Started off with a great Chinese at Keung Kee, then, at the suggestion of the concierge at my hotel, strolled down to Benelux for a nightcap. What a discovery! Cask conditioned real ale served gravity at the bar … delicious … oh and a great atmosphere as well! It is the first bar that I’ve been to on the trip that I will definitely revisit… Without question one of the best nights on the trip so far!

La meilleure micro-brasserie de Montral !. J’adore le Benelux, que ce soit pour ses bires, son euro-dog mais aussi pour sa terrasse qui donne sur la rue Sherbrooke. J’y vais depuis 2006, anne de l’ouverture !
