The goodIs a non profit restaurant where all profits go to subsidize the free activities at place des arts.Complementary bread and butter.Courteous service.Nice ambiance and decor.Conveniently located in the heart of place des arts so if you are catching a show is a good location to be beforehand. Clean barhrooms.The badRestaurant is hectic at dinner time and service is quite slow. If you have a show to catch make sure to arrive at least 2 hours before the show time. The choices of food seemed interesting but our plates were all disappointing.We ordered fried calamari which had a thick batter and were a bland and a greasy.The octopus with peas and lentils, which was a bit chewy and missing flavour. The peas puree was also bland. The warm savoury lentils were the high note of this plate and I would say of the entire meal.The beets salad was missing seasoning. The mixture of yellow beets and orange segments worked but there was no other ingredient to balance out the sweetness of the dish.Overall food was not impressive, nor in flavour nor in presentation. We had three entrees to share and decided not to order a main since everything we had ordered was so forgettable.The uglyAn expensive meal that was not satisfying.

It was very long and they even forgot one of the main course. It took another 20 minutes before my friend could eat. The food was not impressive either, quite bland. This was for lunch and the restaurant was almost empty I don’t understand.
