One of the best pub cuisines I have every had! For the price you pay, considering that you’re in Old Montreal, you receive big portions and delicious food. We walked in at 9pm and ordered burgers, steaks and salads accompanied with beer. By the time we were done, around 10pm, a live band started playing rock, blues and funk on stage! Amazing experience, 100% would recommend!

Cheap beer and good food. Went there to watch the first period of the game, 710ml beers were 6$ (une grosse), really good deal for old montreal, service was a little slow but not bad, I had the fajitas which were really good, probably the best I’ve ever had, the only thing is they only give you 4 small flatbreads. Impossible to fit all the stuff from the hotplate in 4 breads, I had to order 2 more for an extra 1$. Anyways it was really good and I was full!

Answer/comment to Danny. Hello Danny,I’m happy that someone mentionned your comment as we would of liked to have heard your disapointment personally. I don’t wish to be rude but I think that it is a good thing to ask for management in such a situation. I am very surprised to here that one of the 4 waiters (men) that we have gave a bad service. If it’s possible, let us know when you passed so that we can correct the situation if we do have a rude, impolite or not well trained employee. As for the half nacho, if that’s what you ordered, it’s quite understandable that it was half (we offer two sizes), if the waiter made a mistake, you could of mentionned it so that he gets another one. As for your pint, our prices are as anywhere else in the Old Montreal. If you wanted a special deal, which we offer, you could have taken the king (quille) Molson Ex for 6$.Our nachos are homemade as for all our prepartions and always have great comments on them but you might not have liked them and it’s ok. Our bavette is marinated 24hrs and yes we offer it in slices with a mushroom sauce (it is our best seller and never have complaints on it). Maybe you expected more like rib as for thickness and there again, you might not have liked it.I’m answering to your comment as, once again, I’m always surprised, in 2011, that complaints are not directed to management and only on web sites as we appreciate any comments or suggestions. I must also say that for a second and third floor restaurant and 19 years in business with an appreciable reputation, we’re sorry that you had a bad experience and hope you do give another chance to Pub St-Paul and see it was just a big misunderstanding.Sometimes I wonder if it’s not competition complaining just to cause trouble for the well places.Thank-you,Isabelle

Terrible service…food not really better.. First of all…this place is not closed. That’s a shame. The service was terrible. The waiter made a lot of mistakes, was confused and wasn’t even really polite. The food was not great either…I had only half a plate of nachos. They were okay, not great but okay. Most of the food was okay, in fact…except the bavette. It was dry even if the person asked for a medium rare cooking. And it came in several pieces…that’s a shame. Oh…and what an overrated place! Around 9$ for a pint of bloody Rickard’s? 2 pints, and I could buy a 12 pack of Rickard’s. Overall…it was expensive, service was bad and food was low quality.
