Lovely place. Great experience, great service.Best risotto I’ve ever had in Montreal.Definetely recommend this place!
I’ve been here numerous times in the past and haven’t had anything bad to say but I decided to come back with a group of 8 for a birthday party tonight and was extremely disappointed. Everything from the service to the food to the way the bills were presented was off. We were all sitting there for an hour before our order was taken. We got there at 7 and it wasn’t before 8:30 that we received our appetizers which were oysters and salad. It shouldn’t have taken that long to prepare. The food arrived by 9:30. Half the table got their plates and before the other half was served, the waiter decided it was an appropriate time to bring over the new bottle of wine that was requested. The plates should have all been served and then the wine. The portions were very small and most of the table complained about either dry duck, burnt veal or cold food. My fianc ordered the lobster ravioli for $26 and there were max 7 pieces on his dish. Very disappointing. We asked for the bills to be separated in a certain way and they weren’t and it was then too difficult or complicated to be changed so we just settled with paying the bills as they were seperated instead of causing a headache since we knew we would not be returning to dine here. Overall a very disappointing experience and I’m guessing it’s because they are unable to manage a group of 8.

Good!. As stated by many others, the restaurant itself is very warm and cozy. We actually sat on the terrace which was also really nice and not overflowing with people ( which was always my impression each time a passed in front of the restaurant). The food was delicious and the service really friendly. The only thing I didn’t like was the menu. Not being a fan of seafood and wanting to try something a little out of the box, I was disappointed. But, I still managed to have a pretty great meal none the less.
Caigl. Used to love it. Now service absolutely terrible and impolite. Price has shot up portions shrunk.. Decent food but you can find better. Not worth the wait or price. Much nicer Italian down the street.
Overpriced mediocre food. We were a group of 7 on a Friday night at this little resto on Bernard Street. The ambiance is good, and the restaurant was full. The menu seemed promising, if a little pricey. I ordered the table d’hote, with salad, magret de canard ($36), and finished with pannacotta desert (about $10?) and a coffee. The salad was good, but the magret was barely cooked. I would have sent it back, but it had taken so long to get it that I just ate what I could, since I was starving. The delay between courses was way beyond normal, and the waitress was so busy she forgot a few times to bring what we asked (dessert, extra bread, water). Overall, the food was just ok, which is not good for the prices that this place charges. I doubt I’ll go back.
