Best Sushi In the West Island Of Montreal!. I love sushi and I have tried many sushi places and this one is from far my favourite place. If you are someone looking for a great sushi place in a pleasant environment, Avocado Sushi is the place to go! Denis Cordeiro
I tried out Avocado Sushi for the first time after a friend of mine highly recommended it and I was very pleased! The sushi is some of the best I’ve had in Montreal in a while! Beautiful presentation and the service was very good. I would definitely recommend the Asian Twist roll on the specialty menu!
I decided to try this place as it was new to the village. The deco was nice and cozy…too bad the food was NOT what I expected. Aside from waiting over an hour for the food, the waitress was clueless and it seemed as though she didn’t really belong there…finally the overpriced sushi made its appearance and I was very disappointed. I’m an avid eater of sushi and this was not what I expected – the uneven pieces were poorly cut not too mention how thin they were..for that price???!! Are you serious!? And the taste of the fish was questionable…We were not happy ! Once people (who know anything about real sushi) figure out that montreal has many other amazing sushi restos, where you get what you are paying for, this place will be closing down soon…Too bad we can’t get out money back
Great sushi. Love it! one of the best sushi restaurants I’ve been to.Great service great food!
Excitant.
Avocado: a sweet little beacon. Back in 1988, I began working for a weekly newspaper whose offices were located in Pointe Claire Village. During the eight years that I toiled at this newspaper, I recall the village being a rather drab little place, with few quality restaurants (excluding the legendary Le Gourmand, of course). The building that today houses Avocado used to be a rather decrepit structure, whose side wall was consistently falling down and crumbling, all the while irritating local residents. The 1990s weren’t any kinder to the village, but at least there were signs that local businesspeople were doing their best to revive this historic and picturesque part of Pointe Claire. Fast forward to a late November evening in 2012, and I am inside a very cute and stylish sushi bistro, enjoying sake with my girlfriend — inside the same building that I kept seeing fall to disrepair for so long. The atmosphere was fun and light and stylish that night, and before the evening was over, the co-owners became our best friends. Not a bad introduction to Avocado, I’dsay.Nine months later, we still return to Avocado. It is a little beacon of hope for the newly revived village — a place where local business professionals and residents regularly mingle for fine wines and outstanding martinis, and of course, for the tasty sushi (my favourite is, of course, the amazing salmon sashimi served in a glass) and for the connections made with the regulars. Avocado does not pretend to be anything that it is not. The atmosphere is always pleasant, the sushi creations by sushi chef and co-owner Sylvie are always fitting and fulfilling, and the staff is a joyful collection of unique characters. Avocado represents all that is hopeful and invigorating about the new face of Pointe Claire Village. Co-owner Dominique is always on the lookout for new ideas and new themes that keep attracting new customers, and she makes it a point to talk to everyone, even on very busy nights. The restaurant’s monthly martini and sushi nights have become a greatly anticipated part of the Avocado experience, with martini shaker Chardonnay’s amazing drinks now the talk of the town. Avocado has achieved many milestones in such a short time, and while it’s not perfect, the energy and enthusiasm and skills of the tireless staff will surely iron out whatever kinks there may be. There’s much promise with Avocado, and their tasty menu and lively spirit will continue to make it a hit with west-end foodies.
