Delicious food, quaint atmosphere (but dress nicely!), and beautiful presentation. Wait staff is super polite and on top of things, but this restaurant is on the expensive side so that’s to be expected. Would definitely recommend!
Very yummy New Orleans inspired food! The presentation is great and the staff is very friendlyIt’s pricey – so watch how much you drink or the bill will give you a heart attack- Very authentic! If you like spicey southern food, you will not be disappointed! The fried oysters are highly recommended A west island gemEnjoy!
BistroNolah is the closest thing you will come to eating Cajun food in Montreal andone of the best things that has happened in terms of restaurant scenes in theWest Island since 2012. It is a quaint little restaurant with a very quietterrace, romantic atmosphere, exceptional food and very hospitable service.Located in Dollard des Ormeaux, it not only serves the local community but alsothose coming from all the rest of the island who appreciates down home southernfood. Bistro Nolah serves Cajun dishes with atwist; the plates are fused with local Quebec market products. Do not expect 100% proof Cajun/Creole atBistro Nolah. You will also find on their menu such items as Steak frites, DuckConfit and Braised Short Ribs for those discerning palates. All dishes arebeautifully presented, in a delicate manner with subtle flavors of Cajunthemes, mixed in with fresh local Quebec products. Nothing is too spicy. montrealfoofoodie.com
Great Louisiana food! Excellent service. A hidden pearl! I’ve been searching for some Louisiana food since I’ve been to New Orleans and this was perfect to satisfy my craving! Everything was excellent!
One of the better dining options in the west island.Food was spot on and service was amazing.beef short ribs was tender and the meat falls off the bones. Portions were decent.
Really great food experience!I especially enjoyed their,Crab cakes: satisfyingly crunchy exterior stuffed with very generous amount of crab – the real deal!Grilled octopus: served on a bed of black rice, my new favorite!Chorizo sausage with grits: I was weary of grits until I tasted this dish. Their creamy texture was heavenly and mixed with the chorizo and oil – perfect.Catfish (main dish): Coated in spices (but not very piquant) and accompanied by sweet potato puree and veggies. It was great! I would definitely order this again. Not from the area? Nolah is worth the trip.
I absolutely love it! The scallops, short rib and catfish are among my favourite mains. The crab cakes are great too. Make sure to try their grits with your meal. They are deliciously rich and creamy – a must! For dessert, I keep ordering the beignets which are pillowy clouds of awesomeness although I am sure the other desserts are just as good. Also, its nice to have a such great restaurant so close to home, here in the West Island.
