On Sunday Sept. 18th we reserved for 7 people at La Porte Grecque. We specifically asked for the upper level of the restaurant,as this is normally quieter. The man named Ricky mentioned therewas another party already seated upstairs. We thoughtnothing of this and proceeded to take our seats. Before I continue, I would like to say that the food, both inquality, quantity was very good. The wait staff tried their best, and the cost was reasonable. It turned out that the’other party’ consisted of a companydinner for about thirty people. These people were loud andboisterous. They played quiz games, used party noise-makers.In short, being seated near them was extremely upsetting to our group.Ricky should have been aware that the group was extremely loud, andanticipating his clients needs, should have offered us alternateseating. The high noise level and this poor seating caused our groupfrustration and anxiety.

We have always loved dining at the Porte de Greque for many years. We especially loved the calamari and the scallops wrapped with bacon. We have tried to duplicate the wonderful lemon sauce. Is it possible to share the recipe for the sauce. Greatly appreciated. Much thanks and long time supporter. Thank you. Joyce

I’m not a picky eater, and I understand that when we have a large party it is very difficult to accommodate everyone. That being said, the waitress was very rude and seemed to be exasperated by us asking for extra napkins and some water. Staff was not friendly. Here’s the breakdown of our visit:FOOD; We shared a calamari entree. It was so deep fried, with extra batter and oil you couldn’t taste anything except grease. You also couldn’t eat more than four pieces because it was so greasy your stomach revolted. The size was nice, such that it could easily be shared with four people. The lemon was brown; was not impressed. The main meal; I had the lamb; already they forgot two pieces, which they told me they would bring later. The pieces that I started with were tough, BURNT like hell, and cold. They were disgusting. Also they were VERY small. ATMOSPHERE/DECOR: oh my, problems problems. You couldn’t see a thing it was so dark! You could see some stuff actually; the fact that each tablecloth had at least 2-3 stains on them. Not impressed. I also saw lots of cobwebs on the lights. It made for a very dingy, dirty place; such that you are concerned for the state of the kitchen and where your food is being prepared. Also the glasses had dirt or something on the rim of them. On the other had, I love the stonework and the heritage house feeling; I appreciate houses and places that have a history to them, but clean it. It was very loud; it was hard to hear in the second room. Also hard to navigate through, with there being to many tables close together.Wheel care access: what a joke! You have a ramp going to the main entrance, but once you enter there is a half step that makes it very difficult for anyone in a wheelchair or with a walker to go through. Also, the entrance way had no light! NONE whatsoever, I had to take out my flashlight on my phone to see where I was going. Overall; NEVER going to go again, never going to suggest the place. I was surprised by the amount of positive reviews I saw here. IT sounds like we went to a completely different restaurant!

One of the best restaurants in the region. The decor is just amazing as it is very charming with a home-like style. The staff makes sure you are satisfied and take care of explaining the menu and take time to answer your questions. I had the bad boy grill and I was amazed at the amount of food I received for the price I paid. Not to mention that you can bring your wine. If you are in the area and want to celebrate or just want to have a good time, that is the place to go.
