Newly renovated, been there about 10 times over the years, always as good. Great selection of sushi, wine list is really good too. One of my top 3 in Montral region for sushi.
The best sushi restaurant I’ve ever been too ! The waiters are so nice and the restaurant is very well maintained. L’enfer roll is my favourite, tempura salmon roll .
Great entrees and sushi. Very fresh. A1 service. Very accommodating and professional. Ordered the sushi platter for 4, more than enough. Maiko speciality sushi was a huge hit.
I went to maiko sushi for the first time after their recent renovations and loved it. They nailed the three most important things about a restaurant; food, service and ambiance. The space is beautiful. It’s modern and different and really didn’t feel like your typical sushi restaurant. The details in the design are beautiful. It a was full, the atmosphere was fun and welcoming and they even had a live band. Overall, a very enjoyable experience.
Management Hosts…Epic Fail!!. My wife and I went there this past Saturday Nov 30 2013….well kind of went there. I’ve been going to Maiko for a little over 5 year now and even after they started cutting their sushi into smaller pieces and changing more for it (sad fact), I still enjoy goning there cause its the closes to (Once best) good sushi you can get in WI. So anyways we walk in at 7:30pm and ask for a table for 2 ppl. The 2 people behind the front desk (hostess/manager cause why 2 hosts) looked at us and asked if we had a reservation….I was like rsvp ?…we’re 2 ppl and you guys have never taken a rsvp for 2 ppl in the 5 years I’ve been coming here…they scrambled at each other and said sorry we have rsvp so we dont have a table for you…the resto had maybe 12 tables of 2 ppl settings. Then they kind of just ignored us until my wife asked ok should we leave or wait?…..are you kicking us out ?…. no response from the hostess just blank looks and avoidence …then one said yeah maybe 20 min. .. we waited for 10min and went to sushi st.Jeans 30min wait $100 spent and Maiko $100 loss. This place has now gone from cheaping down on portions and charging higher prices, to a complete melt down in the front of the house… rsvp for 2 ppl sorry this place isnt that posh …lounge music isnt everything. Hopefully they read this and make this once amazing sushi place …at least good again
More concept than food
Not a fan of this place… Came here several times. In the beginning, it was very good. But the more i come, the food,has gone downward, extremely expensive, the waiters tend to be cold and not friendly. I do not come here anymore since i paid a bill of two alcohol drinks and small tray of several different kind of sushis andmthe bill went up to 107$. I had a heart attack when i saw the price and plus it was a longgg wait to,get thefood…
