We went there last week and normally the fish and chips is amazing but we were very disappointed, they were soggy and the breading fell apart and this happened to all my guests, family. We were 7 people and all the same, and the restaurant was so dirty and not maintained. We were seated upstairs, what a disappointment. We will never go back there again and service was terribly slow and not very friendly.
This resto has been a landmark on the boardwalk ever since there was a boardwalk. The open kitchen is a good sign. The decor typical rustic with the classic porthole and fishing line themed style, cheesy but it works, makes you feel your some where Oceanside on a Florida causeway, boats included. The service impeccable and the drinks are not metered so you know you’re getting a decent drink. Now the food it’s terrible. The shrimp cocktail is 12.95 for 4 very large shrimp with no flavour not edible, my orange roughy was edible but no wow factor. My daughter ordered the kids meal of chicken strips. You know when you forget them in the oven, take them out and they are so over cooked the chicken and the breaking tastes the same. My husband had the haddock and he liked it. All in all I have given this place a few 2nd tries, from now on I will just walk on by

But you have to beware of what you order, sometimes things are good and sometimes not so good, I think it might be who is cooking on the day you go. I have had bad service and good service, that’s to be expected because of human personalities etc.I will still go back because when they get it right it’s great. The calamari is great, never had a bad one. Also there is a lunch special menu which we had last week, fish burger for about 10$ was really good although the waiter didn’t know what the fish was, I think it was halibut. Anyways roll the dice.
