Nice ambience but it would be hard to call this place authentic Italian. The pizza was more frozen pizza style than wood burning oven. The pasta was good but nothing exceptional. Our waiter seemed distracted and over explained every dish. I know what manicotti is I didn’t need the in depth description.
LOST. We at there about a month ago on a Friday night and the place was not even half full. Actually they turned off the lights in two of the sections that were not being used. I must say our waiter was attentive and polite but did not know much about the menu or wine , which may I add, most wines have been crossed off thus leaving very little selection. I ordered a veal marsala(as the menu has been drastically reduced-many of their previous specialities are gone)with an entre of escargots, the rest ordered pasta . The veal was awful and tasteless and when I mentioned this to the ‘ASSISTANT MANAGER’ he totally ignored me. I have not been there in more than ten years or more and I will NEVER go back again……..Piazza Romana has lost its former glory as being one of the best Italian restos in the West Island.
