My mouth is in heaven!. My buddy told me about Bistro on the Avenue a while back. I was curious so I decided to stop by tonight. I was greeted by a very friendly and lovely young lady. I wasn’t sure what to get. She suggested that I try the shrimp penne with creamy pesto sauce. Wow! I can’t believe how good it was! The sauce was so tasty. The combination of this sauce and shrimp was out of this world. I am definitely coming back. I would love to try what else they have to serve.
Great food and friendly service. It was my first time eating here. I heard good things and was not disappointed! I got the penne with sautee tiger shrimp with mushroom, baby spinach, and pesto cream sauce. It was heaven in my mouth! The staff was very friendly and helpful in making a decision for a newcomer. I am definitely coming back!
By far the best casual restaurant in the area.. This is our go to place. Everything is excellent, we’ve been coming here for years. Bring your family or your lover and your wallet, and you won’t be disapointed. We love it here. Highlights: Soup, Crabcakes, Atlantic Salmon, NY Steak, Burger.09 Oct, 2014Long Time Favorite. Always a great safe bet.. This place is just excellent, for reliable high quality food. It’s regular food, but done exceptionally. I know I can always go here for after work drinks or late night dinners and have a great, easy and good time. Always recommended.
The Onion Soup. French cheese ! Cheese! Cheese!15 Oct, 2014Bistro On the Avenue celebrates its 25th Anniversary with Chef Eduardo and Chef Shad. The restaurant offer a spirited take on French Colonial Bistro architecture by French designer Jacques Garcia. He designed the restaurant and bar feature stately, sober architecture updated with dramatic contemporary details. As its name suggests, the restaurant is situated in its own grand On the Greene Avenue. It has become a runaway success, thanks to its authentic design details and affordable French-brasserie fare. The restaurant has two levels. The ground floor dining room is enclosed by terrace doors that can open up to an outdoor terrace on sunny days. In the main dining area hangs a striking ceiling installation. Upstairs are additional space for private party that feel as warm and inviting as living rooms. In October 2014, it is celebrating its 25th Anniversary of fresh produce, seafood and Steaks. Vege Tower and the Fresh Sea Food Blackened Salmon. Season Vegetables with French Cheese Tower. The Salmon is a special house recipe by chef . This is Bistro’s original recipe for more than 25 years.13 Oct, 2014What a Gem. Delicious meal. I will go back again.. Bistro On The Avenue is an upscale full license resto bar located in the heart of WESTMOUNT . Though Westmount, home to most of Montreals wealthiest English residents, extends much further west and up towards the mountain, Greene Avenue is viewed by many as it Main Street. Running south from Sherbrooke down to Atwater, in a couple short blocks this upscale avenue, named in 1881 for the landowner G.A. Greene, manages to contain an incredible density of shops and the restaurant Bistro On The Avenue.
Excellent Local Bistro. This place serves excellent upscale pub food in one of the most prime locations in Montreal. Been coming here for years, always reliable and excellent steaks, soups and salads.
Still foundering. It seems the place will never rise to past glories or popularity and there are reasons for it…all in the kitchen. Something is amiss and apparently irreparable under the new management. The food is truly blah at the price and it’s no wonder the outdoor food court at the 5 Saisons is jammed each day. ….for the money it’s a way better deal.
