New ownership, better service. I used to go to this place years ago because the breakfast is great (amazing potatoes, fresh fruit, great bread) and cheap with good coffee. However the service was crazy slow, so I eventually went with speedier options…however I went there on a whim last week and found out the place is under new management. The service is now way faster (even though it was a busy saturday when I was there) but has the same good food and laid back atmosphere of the old place. Totally recommend it if you’ve never been, and if you’re like me and have given up on the place, I suggest giving it another shot.
Great. Good atmosphere, service and food. From what I’ve experienced, there is nothing wrong with this place. I would recommend it. One of the only places where the fruits served with breakfast are edible and ripe.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS IF HUNGRY. 1 HOUR AND A HALF AND WAITING….
Great place! The food, staff and quirky resto are awesome (but the bathroom kinda freaks me out)! Everything on the menu is simple and really good!
I heart Joes. Excellent value for the dollar! The breakfast are always homemade and delicious with the prices of a greasy spoon. The service can be slow at times but can make for a really nice lazy Saturday outing after a late night! I love having this spot just around the corner!!
Soho in Montreal. This neighborhood is definitly the SOHO of Montreal. Eclectic, trendy, with the coolest artsy, weird, funny, spacey people in the greater Montreal area. Its also known for the huge student population. Cafe Joe is the gathering place for the neighborhood, and is always busy. The food is authentic fresh and delish..I recommend it highly. The staff is very nice, always there to serve, and the coffee is a welcome sight after a night out. Everything is cooked up from scratch and the open kitchen is in plain sight so you can see your food being prepared with loving care, its not super fast but well worth it. Remember, there are no microwaves in this joint, only old fashioned pots and pans..Definitly worth checking out
The food is good but the service sucks.it takes forever even when the resataurant isn’t busy and you never get a coffee refill before you’re done eating.
