First of Many To Come !!!. Vago is one of Montreals best kept secrets. The atmosphere is quiet, rustic and warm. The service is exceptional and the food is seasoned to perfection. From the moment we walked past the nicely decorated terrace, through the doors and into the jammed packed restaurant the experience was one of a kind. We were instantly greeted with smiles from ear to ear, seated and served cocktails within minutes. The menu offers everything you could want from an Italian restaurant and the Table D’Hote has a wide selection of choices. Not knowing what to expect and all deciding to select from the Table D’Hote, we were beyond satisfied with all our appetizers, starters and entrees. Having silence at a table of 3, for more than 15 minutes, while we rejoiced in our food is the ultimate compliment. The dinner reached a pivotal moment when 4 different desserts were brought to our table, all made in house, for us to share. One more decadent than the other, with an espresso in hand, was the perfect ending to a beyond perfect dinner with friends. I would recommend this restaurant to all friends and family who are looking for an exceptional experience, the ultimate in quality and an at home feel. The regulars are known by name, the newbies are treated like old timers and you are sure to leave feeling warm in your heart and full in you stomach !!!!!
Westmount Gem. Vago is a neighbourhood landmark. Great food, amazing service and a nice quiet atmoshpere. I always leave Vago satisfied and eager to return.
Fresh and Delicious. If you like a little quiet restaurant on Green Ave in Westmount you gotta try Vago out. This place has fresh food and its really appetizing and filling. The price is a little expensive, but well worth it. Best calamari in the city and great seafood pescatori
Excellent food & service although one waiter who served us could use a blood transfusion. Looked like he hadn’t slept in a week. Sampled linguini, veal, salads & steak. All excellent. Desert too. Of course it’s expensive. Anybody expect a bargain on Greene Ave?
Very bad service. Went on a Saturday night. Service was bad. Asked for bread and it took 15 minutes and a few reminders. Asked for a caesar salad with no anchovies and it came with anchovies. They took it back………but it was clear they just took the anchovies from the top and returned the same salad (they didn’t see the anchovies under the lettuce). The boy given the salad was allergic to fish. Same issue with the fillet mignon……asked that the shrimp not be put on top but on the side. Dish arrived with it on top. I do give them credit for not charging for the salad on the bill. However, when i spoke to the manager on the way out and told him I had been there several times and was disappointed with the service……he got mad….told me I should expect this on a Saturday night…and furthermore he had worked there for 7 years but never remembered seeing me…..implying I was lying. Appalling for a high end restaurant. Would never return.
The restaurant was recently purchased by a few employees and the food and service has never been so good!! Have always liked Vago bit I really think he quality had been stepped up a few notches recently. Well done!!
Fine dinning. The fillet Mignon was the best I have ever had. The vegetables were cold and did not seem very fresh. The desserts (crme brle and tiramisu) were amazing. Pricey but very nice interior. Service is good but our waiter seemed to be a little impatient.I would go back for the fillet Mignon anytime!
