Excellent Chinese food, more authentic than what western style Chinese can be. The prices are good and service delivery was prompt. Saskatoon’s hidden gem and it is a family run, small business as well.
I used to be a regular here (not many Chinese Food Restaurants are open, late at night) and have never found their food to be spectacular. The deep fried foods have been, and still are, very hard. Too hard to eat and enjoy. My dog loves the steamed chicken in the fried rice, I don’t. The Lo Mein is very greasy, the Chow Mein is not as bad. The sweet and sour sauce is like water, not too happy about that, but the flavour is good. The Honey Spare Ribs, are just that. Plain, no flavour ( where’s the garlic? ). The Pan Fried Mixed Vegetables are bland, the sauce is not tasty like the other vegetable dishes. I’ve even tried the most expensive dish on the menu, the Seafood Combination Plate for $19.00!!! A HUGE disappointment! The seafood came out of a bag in the deep freezer. Too much money for that dish. Come to think about it, the entire menu is overpriced. The WonTon soup is good, the Plain Fried Rice is good (not greasy), Sweet and Sour Spare Ribs are good (a dish that is real homemade, not like the Lean Pork which comes out of a bag in the deep freezer), and the Pan Fried Mixed Vegetables are good, they just need a flavourful sauce. The BEST thing about this restaurant is that the food is ALWAYS HOT. The owners are all very nice people. I wish them well.
We ordered take out awhile ago. And just as the other reviews have already stated. The food was over cooked. Chicken balls were like golf balls. The fried rice not good, I make better than this establishment. The sweet and sour sauce was way to sweet for my liking and too thick. I should have known before ordering if I haven’t ordered from an establishment for quite some time there is a good reason.
