Had the tomato and yam soup as well as the beef dip. The sound was spectacular. The sandwich was good and the beef was tender but did leave me wondering a little about when it was prepared. The au jus was a little bland and didn’t add as much flavour and zest as I would have personally hoped for. Personal preference. Otherwise, a quaint little cafe when you like a little different selection and nothing typical.

Agree wholeheartedly with all the other reviews on here that talk about the awful service. Gave them a 1.5 for the good baking and food but that seems to be the only plus about this place. As for the service, it has some of the worst staff that I have ever witnessed at a coffee shop in this city. Kept trying to give them a chance because of the food, but if you’ve ever been here, you’ll know what I mean when I say that the staff barely crack a smile and will usually greet you with a blank stare when you come up to order. The only friendly person I’ve dealt with is the girl that does the latte art on Wednesdays. The rest of the girls have absolutely no sense of customer service whatsoever. No one ever seems to be in a good mood, they’ll loudly complain about things behind the counter, and seem like it’s a chore when they actually have to help you. Since some of the worst have stuck around here for a while, I doubt it will ever change either. This place has so much potential, but with the constant negative atmosphere it will never be comparable to any of the better coffee shops in the city – ones with both better coffee AND staff that actually seem like they want to be there.
Really enjoy this place for coffee and snacks. I still need to try some lunch food one day. Everything is really tasty that I have tried. I love there gluten free scones and salted caramel lattes. I had to drop my review. Staff is not friendly at all. Is it really that hard to say hello to someone?
I love this place. I love the Sandwiches, Baked goods, Soup, Salads and even the simple drip coffee taste great. The staff has always been very friendly to me. Also Citizen Caf & Bakery was the first place that I felt 100% comfortable breastfeeding in public in Saskatoon. Which is a big deal for me because not a lot of places make me feel as comfortable as Citizen.
The Pythagoras is amazing, it’s a Mediterranean/Greek salad in a panini. Citizen Cafe has a nice atmosphere and good quality food. Nice space for a lunch meeting.
I love this place, delicious specialty coffees, amazing soups, salads and sandwiches! They have the best desserts and scones. mmmmmm! The one thing I disliked was that they microwaved their eggs in plastic dishes! Aside from that, I highly recommend this place!! The staff is always very friendly 🙂
