Spouse found this place and has been raving about the lasagna in the lounge. $10.95 includes Caesar salad and garlic toast. Today I finally broke down and met there for lunch. The lounge wasn’t busy. A couple people playing vlt’s. Server came to the table right way taking my drink order. Spouse showed up and drinks were brought quickly. So we both ordered the lasagna special. The food came out in a timely manner. It was huge! Salad dressing I’m sure was bottled but that’s fine. Overall I was full and happy. I’d go back.
Ordered delivery. Greek ribs were quite tasty. Tossed salad good, not too special. Ordered an extra order of fries and gravy, and was hoping it would be larger. Overall basic good Greek food.
We tried Mr Ribs tonight after hearing about their specials, which it turned out were in the lounge only. Our server took at least 10 minutes to come over for a drink order, when we asked her if there were any pizza specials in the dining room. She said yes, large, 2 topping for $10, which is great. She then took another 10 to 15 minutes to come back and take our order. You’d think it was busy, but nope, there were only a few tables and there was another server working too. Another 10 minutes or so passed and she came back to say the pizza special was for take out only and asked if we wanted something else. She hadn’t brought a menu and when we asked and she did, she brought us a lunch menu of things that weren’t available. Instead of waiting for her to come back to get us the right menu, I went up and got it myself. So after being there for 40 minutes or more, we finally ordered. When our food came the portions were huge, and I have to admit, delicious. After we were done, getting the bill took at least 20 minutes to come. It was painful how bad the service was. She was nice enough but just awful. I think we’ll try again because the food was good, but just pray she isn’t our server.
Their dry ribs aren’t terrible, but their bar staff is I would sooner drink Buckley’s cough syrup then sit in their bar I was cut off after I tried to order 2 drinks a shot and a beer, because that is apparently their policy so when I asked why they were enforcing such a ridiculous rule the bar tender got angry and dumped out the pint he was about to sell me he then kicked me out of the bar… What a crybaby I won’t be going here again.
Food’s ok, nothing special. Keep proof that you paid your bill though: we’ve been accused of not paying and had to bring our banking info to provide proof!!! Boo!!!
Avoid. I generally try to avoid negative reviews, but with very few people in the restaurant, there are just no excuses. Service was okay, while food was pretty mediocre. The soup had no taste, and the salad was a very chilled romaine lettuce mound with two slices of cucumber and one tomatoe slice. The ribs were tough, fatty, and of very poor quality. For a family style restaurant, there are many better options in Saskatoon.
I LOVE MR.RIBS!!. I go to Mr. Ribs all the time, the managers are awesome there! They treat you like family. They have the best boneless dry ribs I’ve ever had; lightly seasoned with some lemon juice…. mmmmmm! They’re pizza is probably top 5 places in Saskatoon in my opinion and I’m from Niagara Falls. I’ve never had anything bad here, but I haven’t tried everything because I usually just get the bar food which is amazing. Eat on the bar side and say hi to Chris and Roberto, they aim to please! Thanks Mr. Ribs for being my local watering hole.
