It’s alright. The pizza doesn’t have much toppings and the dough doesn’t have a very good texture. Good quality ingredients used for the toppings. Just wish there was more of them. Sauce and cheese is nice. Could use more cheese. They have alot of potential though. Fairly pricey for what it is. I still wanna try their sandwiches and tomato bisque soup. And give them another chance to impress me with their pizza.
If your expecting your American pizza, you won’t get it here, it’s authentic. It’s an interesting spot, but not one that i would regular. I’d reccomend it if your trying to impress some posh girl on that first date. It’s got that classy vibe but a bit more on the casual fun side. Pizza is not very filling so get dessert- the caramelized banana thing. It’s amazeballs.
Another great meal at Lawson Famoso tonight. Wednesday special includes prosciutto wrapped mozza balls on special for $2 each which we started with and were quite tasty combined with the garlic flatbread on the plate. Lots of sauce to scoop the bread in. The sweet BBQ chicken pizza was kind of a fresh take as it had a generous amount of chopped tomato and a bit of cilantro on top. Not at all what I expected and very good. We also shared an order of the pistachio pesto primavera. This pasta dish was amazing! As good as anything you will find at a higher end specialty pasta restaurant. Quality ingredients combined with perfectly cooked pasta and a healthy order portion. Everything just seemed to work together nicely! If you have no problem with the ingredients you will not be disappointed with this dish!Famoso do an excellent job of always having local Saskatchewan beers on tap and I hope they continue this. I’m a big fan of supporting our fabulous beer options we now have in the province so it’s nice to see a restaurant on board. The beer I had tonight was on special and was a chocolate flavoured stout which I wouldn’t necessarily recommend with the food. This is just my personal taste however.I have never had an issue with the service here. The servers are helpful and very friendly. They keep it light and contribute to a fun atmosphere. With the economy suffering a bit locally I believe places who are doing a good job such as this should be recognized and supported. Cheers!
