The ginger chicken was excellent, as was the wonton soup and veggie fried rice. The egg roll was fairly standard. I didn’t like the sweet and sour chicken, it was too sour and some pieces were undercooked. Dumplings were tasty. Service was friendly and quick.
The food was delicious. I had the #72 with beef; A vermicelli bowl with spring rolls on their veitnamese menu. The beef had a sauce on it that appeared quite thick. It wasn’t at all over powering though. It had a very subtle taste. Although I dot normally enjoy onions I think I regret ordering this without any. The atmosphere was dead. I was the lone diner. They also have tacky Christmas decorations up of tinsel stars and glittery bows. They could do a lot with this place if they renovated. All in all the food was good and the spring rolls were some of the most flavourful I’ve ever had. I’m excited to try other dishes in the future.
Ordered take-out, exceedingly quick delivery and we live all the way downtown. Sesame chicken was decent and the seafood fried rice was okay, but could have used some flavour.
Buffet Disapointment. We went for the buffet on Thurs. (May 28Th) at 12:30 PM. All the food trays were very picked-over but they said more food would be coming, out so we stayed. Three of the hot dishes were never topped up the ones that were came out in very small portions and must have been warmed up from previous buffets. At $11.00 for this buffet it’s a total rip-off.
Forgotten diners. You forgot about us! It took over 2 hours to get our food. You didn’t get our order quite right. Only 10% off!! Not impressed.
Chicken fried rice: Just okay, nothing special. Beef chow mein: Again, it was okay. Szechuan chicken with vegetables: the sauce was really good but the vegetables were too raw for my liking. Service: Not that great. My husband and I were the only ones in the restraints and not once did they come by to check up on us or filled our water. I had to ask for water before finishing the meal. I didn’t really enjoy it so I don’t think I would come back here.
Magnet holds their menu to our fridge.. We live 2 blocks away. Tried it and everything is good. A few people mentioned the lack of huge buffet portions- well I have never seen more than two tables occupied at one time so pretty sure that the bulk of their business is delivery- if you peek into the kitchen there are always 3-6 people frantically dealing with orders… It’s not a fancy downtown priced downtown restaurant it’s a good neighborhood joint fairly priced and we will continue to patronize as long as they are around.
