This place usually ranges from okay to good. My most recent time was hardly an okay experience. Nothing was tasty, just very bland. I did not feel great after eating here. Ten times out of ten I’d rather take that eight dollars and spend it on a soup and sandwich at the arts caf.
Food is meh, some dishes are just so dry and bland. However, $8 for a buffet because I’m a student makes this place the go-to if I’m not feeling one of the wraps from the Arts Cafe. Yay student frugality.
Its Good – For Cafeteria food. I thought is was OK. Not the worst place on campus to eat. Can’t go wrong with the sandwiches here.
So-So. It’s a hit-and-miss in the flavour department for most of their food. For the price it isn’t worth it most of the time. Unfortunately almost all campus food is over priced due to raking in easy cash and Choices is no exception, being one of the better tasting spots to eat. The staff vary… most of the people preparing the food are rather unfriendly; don’t even dare ask for help or ask about a menu item, they talk down to you. First-time eaters, beware! The cashier worker is always quite friendly though and tends to remember a regular face or two. All in all, for the price you pay for any meal on campus, choices is probably one of the better choices. (see what I did there?)
A nice place to get away for a good meal on campus. I love how they have a variety everyday and the best baking! Haven’t been since I graduated but I’m sure its still great!
Some Guy. Being a student, I have eaten here a great many times. Though the food can be hit and miss, with Pasta’s especially being rather generic in my opinion, I think that many of their Soups and daily specials (especially when they aim for Ethnic foods) are quite good and well above average for Saskatoon Generally. For the price, probably one of the better places to eat in the city if you come on the right day.
Best at U of S. If I forget my brown-bagged lunch or want to visit with a friend, Choices is where my feet inevitably take me. Being a vegetarian there is easy, as they are deliciously accommodating of this and other food preferences/allergies. The use of fresh ingredients, some of them local, makes for a nice exotic twist from the day-old superstore ingredients found at most cafeterias. Choices hardly tastes like cafeteria food. I am quite jealous of students with classes in STM… although maybe not because my wallet would be a lot emptier if I did.
