Extremely bland lunch for a reasonable price. The bread was crispy and hot although I would have liked there to be a multi-grain option. All the toppings were pretty standard but the veggies were crunchy and reasonably fresh. The meat (I opted for the sate beef) was probably the most bland and flavorless meat I’ve ever eaten. I honestly don’t think my dog would have eaten the beef had I put it in his dish.Overall I thought this place was pretty disappointing. Calgary has dozens of Bahn Mi shops scattered around downtown that put this place to shame.

Great value proposition here – banh mi for 6 dollars. The size of the sub rivals a footlong from a chain like Subway or Quizno’s. The bread is the real MVP of these sandwiches though – crusty on the outside and soft the on the inside. The vegetables are fresh and do their job, I recommend jalapenos and peanuts. The meat is average at best though – I would say the beef or the pork is tastier than the ham (what they refer to as their special combo) or the chicken, but it definitely lacks the flavor of a more established Vietnamese vendor like Red Pepper. The actual location is little more than a hole in the wall with an awkward layout that makes lineups even more awkward than they should be given their limited area. Despite all this, the staff is friendly, the subs are good, and the price can’t be beat.

This place is awesome. The sandwiches are super delicious and so cheap! The people always make then quickly. I miss working downtown and eating here at least once a week!

Had the special combination sub last night. So delicious, was not expecting such a large sandwich for 6 bucks. Definitely going back again tonight for another sandwich. Ingredients were super fresh and full of flavour. Only downside is there is no seating inside and you stand at the counters.

A delicious sandwich for 6 bucks? Count me in!! So far I’ve had the specialty and BBQ pork Bahn mi. Both kinds were so delicious and fresh. The bread was so crispy, yet soft on the inside. I loved the amount of vegetables and subtle spice in the sandwich. This is my new go to place for a quick bite while shopping.

I have got the special combo today. It was a great place to get a sub, the bun was crusty on the outside and soft on the inside. The pickled vegetables and the meat both tasted really good. I recommend this place for their sub. However, the chicken and shrimp cold roll were just mediocre. There were only minimal amount of chicken and vegetable found in it. It just mainly noodles. The dipping sauce was okay.

Franky’s is a no brainer if you want a good Vietnamese sub….for $6. I have tried all of them and I think the pork is my favorite. They do one thing and they do it really well.
