Ordered from Skip the Dishes. We got crab tempura, Gyoza, and several types of rolls. We enjoyed all of it. Tasted fresh and was well-rolled. Not amazing sushi, but good for Saskatoon. Will likely order again.
Went for a quick all you can eat sushi dinner tonight. We used to come here quite often for sushi lunches and it was always delicious, but the overall quality has gone down a bit. The salmon roses and salmon nigiri were super small with minimal salmon. The rolls are also smaller pieces, which can sometimes be nice. The service was really fast and we definitely didn’t have to wait long. Overall still had a great meal. carlivh.com
The food was great and tasted fresh. I didn’t like the bubble tea. It seemed way too sweet for what I was expecting also there were very few pearls in the one I got which was disappointing. I would try this place again because the sushi was cheap and good quality.
Very inconsistent. I’ve had good food from Nisen on a few occasions and disappointments on many other occasions. Price is very appealing, this is the Thien’s of sushi in Saskatoon, their sushi menu is quite basic but it is very affordable if you’re not after creative sushi. I’ve ordered takeout a few times and had them mess up my order more than once (usually just the wrong kind of rolls on a couple occasions, which probably doesn’t bother me as much as it could). Takeout packaging can be rather baffling. Tempura was far below expectations when I got it, limp and soggy. The interior of the restaurant is pretty dinghy and might give the impression it’s dirtier than it really is? Can’t tell. Anyway, if you’re just after the bare minimum in terms of sushi (mall sushi is below the bare minimum, so it’s better than that), Nisen can provide that at a pretty good price, just don’t expect gourmet.
I must say firstly I have never had a complaint regarding any restaurant here in Stoon. Unfortunately this is one now. I attended the Taste of Sask and what caught my eye on such a warm sunny day here is the fact that your restaurant had bubble tea advertised on the menu. I proceeded to your booth there was the 2 examples of bubble tea. I chose the water melon I did not realize that I wa given the one on the table. Oh my how madening was this. The tea was luke warm and the tapioca at the bottom must have been sitting for quite a long time could not even eat them. Any restaurant must remember especially at the Taste of Sask is that what you serve should be so dam good you would want to attend to their restaurant to taste more of what is offered. Anyone that is familiar with bubble tea knows that it is served ice cold mixed with ice to serve as a smooth and creamy frozen drink and what makes it even more tasty is at the end you have the lovely chewy tapicoa balls.
They serve the best sushi in town ! The first time I went there, I was not impressed by their service. But the food they served helped me forget all about their service. If you are a sushi lover, make sure you check this place out. The prices are reasonable. The lunch buffet is worth every penny. And you can have as many sushi as you like. 😀
Had lunch at Nisen. Nigiri was paper thin on a mountain of rice. Such a rip off. Tempura was limp and soggy. Usually this place is half decent. Super dissapointed
