Decided to visit Otowa tonight for the first time for supper. We ordered a variety of sushi and it was all delicious. The service was good and the food was ready very quickly. Will definitely visit again.
A really quaint little spot with tasty food and nice servers. Coldest bathroom in the world though haha. Still, a lovely place for dinner and the veggie curry spring rolls are to die for.
Given the location this place is surprisingly expensive compared to other sushi places in Saskatoon but it does have a great atmospheric look. I wasn’t blown away by the sushi itself. It was pretty small and the gyoza was unexpected bland. The volcano roll was good. I really liked the zen roll with the pineapple.
I love this place.. although very expensive, no Sushi in town even comes close. Bravo Otowa…….. Best Sushi in YXE by far.
Sushi. 50 dollars worth of sushi, totally not worth the price. Save your money and go to Izumi and get double the amount of sushi for that price.11 May, 2015Not worth it. The sushi is okay. Ordered from there from skip the dishes and was shocked at the little amount of sushi we got for 50 bucks compared to other places. (picture is uploaded) ordered six rolls and sashimi. The rolls are so small. Have ordered from Izumi before and got a large platter for 15 dollars more, and better quality sushi (and probably triple the amount of food). Well definitely not be ordering from here again.
Worst Japanese in Saskatoon so far. Last night my wife and I ate at your restaurant for our 1st wedding anniversary. You had been recommended to us as a great place to eat. I must say I have never been so disappointed in a restaurant in my life. The food was absolutely horrible. The mido soup was vile, flavourless liquid with a few little bits floating in it. The otowa salad????? you mean the little bowl of lettuce, again, with no flavouring, and it had some horrible gunk on top of it. I ordered the bul go ki. Described on your menu as thin sliced sirloin in a sweet garlic marinade. Well, mine was unevenly cut, fatty, chewy, dried out beef smothered in soy sauce to cover how bad it was. The rice had zero seasoning. Horrible. My wife ordered the chicken tang soo. It was a disgusting dried out batter chicken like you get at McDonald’s, with 3 pieces of red pepper and some canned peaches with the peach juice just poured from the can over it. And again, the rice had zero seasoning. We ordered a plate of Dynamic roll. we got 8 pieces which was good. but there was no Tobiko, almost none of the Japanese mayo, if any, and the shrimp and rice was so dry and unseasoned. All in all it was a terrible experience for us and feel we wasted our anniversary meal. Oh, and your plumb wine for 25 dollars. 300 ml of plumb juice. what a wast of money
Great sushi. This was the first place I ever had sushi. I still find the quality is better than most express type places in town
